Do want to know something? I actually don't care if you do or not. Matsuo prides himself in being able to act casually in any situation, no matter who is infront of him. They're all equal to his great casual poker face, and casual talk. Well of course there are exceptions, like really good looking women.
It would be extremely sus if you make no reaction to a cool looking gundam, its the same with beautiful women. Just like now, where he's fake shuddering and fake poker face flaw-ing. While gambling against a woman called Tsunade Senju, Matsuo doesn't know why he met her. But he knew one thing, the things the system gave him a challenge for losing to the most unlucky gambler in existence.
[Challenge: Lose to Tsunade Senju once everyday while only losing for an entire week.
Description; the most unlucky gambler known to the system since entering this world, Tsunade Senju, has almost always lost in gambling. To show your ability to go against destiny, make her day.
Reward; chaos control (Non-sonic shit)]
though the non-sonic shit isn't that fun, having chaos control with a chaos emerald would make me unstopable. Against kage people at least, you can never be sure if you talk about six-paths people, especially Madara, the greatest six-paths person. Of course, without the super kaguya bloodline inheritance like Hagaromo (Sage of six paths) the cheater sage.
I was impersonating a quick made persona with a normal backround and personality, if you don't consider the gambling addiction. It was a samurai female from the land of iron looking for jobs, that wasn't from around here and didn't recognize Tsunade.
Matsuo did every trick in the book that cheaters and gamblers alike used to win, in reverse. He used card counting to know when he would lose a bet or not, he straight up changed his cards secretly, only if she was very drunk though. The more drunk she was the more sus his reverse-cheating became, when she was close to blacking out he literally asked her to show her hand to make sure she isn't cheating.
She was so easy to trick into believing that she was heaven's chosen while going against him, it took about a few months to actually get the week long defeat-athon, he got to the point of actually getting his new skill recognized by the system.
[Confidence boosting lvl 1]
Weird name but good effects, anyways Matsuo, now Ukimio, said goodbye "Goodbye Tsunade, but my stomach still needs food to not complain." Tsunade didn't want her only win-able against opponent leave "No, why don't you play another game before complaining."
Ukimio smiled, and took out her sword. She spinned it before her, using chakra to hide her body. Where ever the blade passed she dissapeared, at the end the sword also dissapeared a small bit after the entire body had dissapeared.
Also, so you know, Tsunade was very drunk at the moment. Matsuo had lost all his money to her so that nothing was left of his shadow clone, anyways he needed to look at his new trick.
[Chaos control lvl 1
Rule chaos and uncertainty, change it to your favor or the opposite. To direct destiny itself, or even go against it. That is what it means to rule chaos, but yes. You can use it to have better luck in gambling, no matter how big a misuse of power.]
'As usual, the system disses me when a skill is low level. Still haven't gotten one to the point it stopped it's dissing though.' Matsuo thought, elated at his new op skill. Did he really deserve this great a skill for losing to Tsunade the sannin person? Even if he went against destiny, he didn't think destiny would care to much.
[You'd be suprised at how hard it is to go against destiny, no matter how small a matter. Fate is extremely head strong, all those novels saying that the future is always changing are right, but only in small ways does it change, more than a bit of better fortune than usual in a penny on the street or a different breakfast than what destiny wants can change without a big fuss. Unless you work harder than one of the most passionate poeple in any field, unless your not under its rule of course. - an anonymous transcendant]
'Cool, another quote was unlocked. I guess any source of information on these obscure matters is valuable, and another quote for the archive I guess.' He did wonder why it was so easy to lose to Tsunade 'It's probably because chance wasn't actually taking a part in those rounds of poker, the amount of cheating was immense. The only times I won was while Tsunade was not drunk enough for me to cheat a lot, and chance rained supreme. I did see that Tsunade only wanted to play while drunk against me in the later parts, not that I'm complaining.'
The archive was another function obtained through the 'pay me money' mission, it was more useful than you'd think. It let me obtain stuff like quotes and lost pages of books based on my circumstances, they usually have some random but useful info on them. He didn't know where they came from or how there were ones about baruto's dad world that he was living in, but he didn't care to much.
Anyways, he took out a coin and took a good few hours to use chaos control badly. When he flipped it, now heads should've had 0.1 percent in favorabilty above tails right now. so a 49.6% chance for heads and a 49.4% for tails if you consider it landing on the side to be 1%, if you don't just put 0.5 extra to both.
Cool, it made pretty much no difference. And Matsuo collapsed onto the ground, he didn't know what the hell happened while he got knocked out.
He woke up 12 hours later, hidden in a pile of random shit. His first instinct was rummaging through the pile of garbage to see if he lost something in it, after that he ran away to another cave to lose any persuers.
Then he straight up banned the chaos control skill from casual/real world use until he didn't get knocked out from small amounts of use, like who would take a 0.1% up in the chance to win a gamble for getting knocked out for however long he was sleeping.
Anyways, Matsuo needed to raise a city to the ground. Yep, it's true. He had no clue as to how or when. But he new one thing that was necessary; numbers. He was going with every trick in the book, poisoning the well to take away the water supply, setting up a war if needed, a locust swarm to take away the food supply, a plague so that they can't move in retaliation. And many more, he was even ready to divert a river or two for an artificial flood.
Also, he may have gotten a Sun Tzu book. The art of war, it was. Got some good stuff in there, though Matsuo needs an army to use them to their best effect. Some is to cutting edge to be used too.
In the capital of the country of fire, the crazed scientist was haggling with a merchant for dat bieeg map. The merchant was destroyed by the miserly Abyss, he had trained his haggling though the many, many years he's been here.
So like a century or two, genetic enginering is fun. Ever heard of the immortal mole rat, it looks disgusting but doesn't age beyond adulthood. How does it do that? Well, the ends of genes are slowly filed away with every divide of the cell. The ends of those genes have useless parts that can go without problem, but when it dissapears the real gene withers away, that's aging.
Science is cool, especially when you have a transgalactic level lab at your disposal. To stop aging is as simple as as making a sandwich to him, he also has a few extra memory enhancement chips in his brain so that he can actually remember stuff after he turned one-thousand years of age and beyond. So he should be fine for at least 100 millennium.
This is all, of course, the story of a persona. An unreal, figment of imagination. Well the anti-aging stuff has a scientific basis, that mole-rat doesn't age and we know how it does that. The chip is total nonesense though, but if necessary it will be used when the mind is read. If he could fake the memories that is, eh. He'll do it later, the system already said that his life only of this body could be read by the inhabitants of this reality. Though he wondered if he would actually need to get one of those chips in the future, if his brain's capacity was overloaded.
Anyways, Matsuo needed an army, or an elite task force would do. So the akatsuki would work, two of them should be enough for a small city 'But how do I get in touch with them? No clue, but money makes connections.'
It was going to be so annoying to actually get those connections, but if he just loaned some of his immense wealth off to a noble in exchance for a title, if those are a thing, it'll be fine 'If there aren't any titles then ask if they have any channels for me to contact the akatsuki for a job.'
That was what he was planning, of course he would use a persona that would want to see a city raised to the ground. Abyss would do well in this aspect, and he should have more apearances to more effectively work its magic of deception.
'First, find a noble family/someone that could have connections with the akatsuki. record their circumstances and choose one of them to connect me to high society. For a price, hopefully I'll be able to find one with a big problem, then make their way out of it me, myself, and I.' Matsuo, or the middle aged man persona he was using, nodded. Of course it isn't a big persona so no profile, but he may keep using it for information collection so he'll probably make it one in the future.
After an hour of haggling with an information broker in the area, you know that they're work with info if there's an eye symbol on what they're using it whether it be a table or a spoon. This just means they're accepting random customers, its a widely agreed apon thing in the broker business. How he knew this was a story for, whenever I get bored of the present.
Anyways, after an exchange of paper while both act like nothing was different from before. The conversation over paper went; Noble family- big money problems, prioritized- no escape seen through problems, no spesifications, necessary- 10- F-
In return, a fake drunk info broker stumbled an dropped a paper saying; 38200- 2,53- A50, Y39-
After that the persona started to drink a bit o' beer, wait no, its sake. Sorry, I've been dealing with a lot of fantasy worlds lately. Matsuo walked away after a drink, after which he bought a map of the capital.
After decoding the code, which wasn't really a code. He bought a hotel room and slept until 2 am, then walked somewhere as a cloaked figure. Matsuo met a cloaked figure and gave the money, 38200 ryo exactly. The cloaked figure shook Matsuo's hand, leaving a piece of paper.
When he got into a hidden place and looked, he smiled and nodded 'Info brokers really deserve the high price, that high-end family is in a good condition for what Abyss would play around his fingers.' Matsuo nodded to himself and walked away, out of the hotel, out of the district, then out of the capital, then out of the region surrounding it.
I got a cool twist in my mind right now, anyways... How's the fanfic right now?
