*Creak*
Welcome back, Shin!" Guren greets me with a bow. Entering the house I put my sandals to the side and hug the little girl. Guren with her face visibly brightening takes it in stride.
The first day of the Academy was over and now I knew what my daily schedule would be like. With my book from the academy still in my hands, everything I noted down would be learned by Guren soon.
Her theoretical knowledge for her age and how fast she picks it up is monstrous.
"How was training today?" I ask a little curious. But strangely when Guren heard this she flinched which put me a little off guard.
"I-It went alright… I can already do the leaf exercise for three minutes and my stretches were fine..." She stutters out which almost made my eyes pop out.
'What the fvck man, it took me months to even progress to the exercise. But she is already timing herself in the minutes on the first day?' I thought in slight jealousy. She could already feel her chakra and move around as she wanted.
Doing that in itself was difficult enough…
Realising this was the true difference between someone with natural-born talent and having none. My dumbass now knows Itachi could probably graduate in his first year in the academy. While it was already obvious this was the case, this solidified it even more. The only reason Itachi graduated at the age of 7 instead of 6 is because it's not wartime probably in my opinion.
"That's amazing you're even better than me! Soon you'll be protecting me from danger. This calls for a celebration." I say excitedly. While I was jealous somewhat, why care much as the stronger she is the more it benefits me.
Over these months I've gotten quite emotionally attached to the girl. While this could be considered "bad", I will be able to trust her and tell her anything.
Besides my transmigration of course. Only retards would tell about their soul hopping, even to their future or current loved ones in another world.
Like what would that even achieve? It would make me more worried than lift a burden on my chest. If anything it would increase the burden bruh.
I got mad trust issues from my past life which is probably the reason for it. It becomes even worse in a world like Naruto as well.
"Beef?" Guren says in anticipation.
Looking at the stars in her eyes I just chuckle and nod. With an excited smile, she happily ran to the kitchen.
While this happened I saw a glimpse of a bandage on her hand. Seeing this I got a surprised look and walked to her.
"What happened to your hand?" I ask sternly grabbing her hand gently.
Guren with a scared face tried to avoid eye contact which made my expression soften.
"I a-accidentally… Cut myself when doing shurikenjutsu training…" she answered after some time.
"Guren look at me," I say cupping her cheek with my hand. "Why are you so scared? You can tell me anything."
"I-I'm scared you won't like me anymore if I get scars." She admits with tears starting to stream down her eyes. Finally knowing the problem I give her a big hug and carry the poor girl.
Guren clutched me with all her power for the first time in a while since she arrived in my house.
"No matter what scars you have, you will still be my Guren."
Saying this I suddenly hear Guren giggle in a low tone which sent shivers down my spine. With some sweat going down my face I look at her expression.
"Hehehe all Shin's." She practically whispers with dark eyes.
'What the fvck. Hold on we need to backtrack here.'
While walking to the table, I patted her head and calmed her down which maybe helped?
Plopping her down on a seat she just sat there sniffling. While this happened I cooked some steak which is a luxury in this village.
Most foods the village constantly consumes are shipped from merchants or the fire daimyo. After finishing up the food with Guren sitting there patiently, I plate up the food and place it on the table.
"Uwaa!"
Guren smelling the food had an awed expression. Cutting into the meat it was a perfect medium rare which satisfied me.
"Say ahh," I say cutting a small piece and holding it up with a fork. Right after feeding Guren she immediately imitated me which amused me.
"Shin… Say ahh." She shyly said holding a piece of steak on her fork. Taking the food in stride my taste buds thanked myself for the well-seasoned steak.
I need to make some steak rub.
'This type of life isn't too bad, if anything it's pretty good. I wonder how long that will last…'
…
"Hello little Shin, I congratulate you for joining the academy! Your youth is immaculate!" Might Guy enthusiastically says? Smiling at his words I thank him for his compliment.
This time he wasn't by himself though as a kid with gravity-defying white hair and a mask was next to him.
Recognising who it was I stayed calm as he wasn't my main target today. Talking to Might Guy will be very important.
"This is my best friend Kakashi! I tried to get him to come here for so long but he was stubborn. He's so cool and hip!"
Might Guy holding up his fist with tears coming out, made me look at Kakashi with a confused look. The man himself looking at me stepped away from Might Guy and faced a different direction embarrassed.
Seeing this I laughed a little at their friendship dynamic as it was quite entertaining.
"So what do you guys want to order? We have three menu items. Fries, BLT and Dango milk." I explain as there was a new menu item since Might Guy ate here.
"So there's a new item huh! Let me get the fry and BLT meal! Kakashi my comrade I recommend fries, we can race to see who finished their portion first!"
Kakashi "ignoring" Might Guy ended up just leaning on the counter and ordering himself. "What a hip and trendy attitude!"
'Bro I'm gonna lose customers at this rate.' I thought barely holding back my laughter seeing Might Guy.
"I'll take one set of fries and one Milk Dango as well," Kakashi says taking out a bill for 1000 Ryo. "Keep the change kid."
"Thank you!" I quickly say while taking the money.
'What's with shinobi and not wanting change? Well everyone that does this is from a clan so meh. More money for me.'
Taking the order it didn't take long belong I served up. There were a couple of other customers and I had to give them food first.
But when I finally got up to the dynamic duo my opportunity arises. I took the chance and sat next to Guy while Kakashi was on the opposite side.
"Might Guy you're a taijutsu expert right?" I ask with a disturbed expression. The man himself turning to my direction, sees my face and keeps his joyful mood.
"Yes, little Shin! Why do you ask?"
"Can you please teach me taijutsu!" I sincerely ask.
*Cough* *Cough*
While Might Guy was processing what I said, Kakashi was choking on some dango milk hearing my words. After a bit, Might Guy got a serious look.
"Why do you need me, young Shin? There are lessons in the academy!" Guy says nodding to himself. Seeing my opportunity start to slide away, I needed to tell him what was happening.
"A friend who I consider a rival in my class is from the Uchiha clan. He's got a head start in ninjutsu which makes it impossible for me to catch up in the academy. My only quality is my body and taijutsu." I explain which got an understanding nod from Might Guy. He seemed to ponder the idea for a little bit with a distant look.
After what seemed a few minutes Might Guy got a wide smile and put his hands over my shoulders.
"Well, then you will need to show your youth daily! I'll make sure you don't fall behind your rival!"
Seeing the fire in his eyes the tension built from before released which surprised me for some reason. Asking actually worked but considering it was Might Guy, he's too nice.
"I'll be in your care from now on sensei," I responded excitedly with a fist-and-palm salute. Kakashi who was to the side didn't talk at all and was like a ghost.
He kind of faded away as Guy and I set up to meet every day besides weekends in the morning to train.
The man already trained in the morning anyways so helping me at that time should be fine.
'I'm definitely gonna regret this.' I thought to myself hoping I wouldn't become a masochist. I'm not a sucker for pain but if it's for gains then sacrifices must be made.
"I will see you tomorrow morning young Shin! Kakashi let's see who eats this food the fastest!"
Letting the two have their little competition, I walk to the kitchen with a smile on my face.
The rest of the day went on like normal with Guren and I working around the restaurant. Luckily both Guren and I were up to the leaf exercise and could now advance together.
I thought of a new way to make the tree climbing exercise more efficient than forcing it.
…
"Guren can you push the mattress a little more."
"Alright. There it's done!"
Looking at the little DIY I did to adjust to the tree walking exercise, I thought it would work just fine. On the floor hugging the wall was a mattress with blankets on it.
This is to cushion our fall.
While the ceiling might not be high by some people's standards. Guren and I are still children and are very short.
So the steps needed are around 15+ depending on how small we could make the steps. This isn't considering if we could stick to the wall though.
"Just let me try it first okay? It's to check if it's safe." I say walking on the mattress. Guren who was comfortably snuggling up covered by three blankets didn't complain.
Looking at the cute scene in front of me, I hold myself back from cuddling her.
Getting up to the wall I put my left foot flat on it first, this was because I was left-footed.
"If I wasn't flexible just doing this would be hard." I joke to myself feeling some strain. Channelling some chakra to my left foot's sole, it took a few seconds.
It took even longer before I had to experiment with how much chakra I needed to make my foot stick.
While my reserves were above average for a kid in my class. It was because of my previous training, my actual reserves aren't big enough to blow up and throw me off the wall.
So it's either I slip off or my feet stick which feels reassuring.
The body severely limits how much you can use and control your total chakra. It's been said 20% is the cut-off explained by the {Eight Gates}.
So I could never truly get chakra exhaustion from using one ninjutsu but multiple. This doesn't apply to this exercise though as I'm constantly flowing my chakra to my soles.
"That's stuck stuck."
Trying to move my feet, it wouldn't budge. Knowing that this was the amount needed my plan was now in motion.
In theory instead of forcing my body to adapt by force. I can do it more naturally and faster by doing this.
By removing the chakra on my feet and putting my legs back on the floor and putting my left leg back on the wall and trying to stick it. I will get to a point where I'll get faster to put chakra to my feet and the right amount.
If I keep repeating, I should be able to do this with both feet and funnel chakra to my soles faster.
Because the problem here is that I can't remove my chakra to move my feet and then channel the chakra again to take a step fast enough. This doesn't even consider needing the right amount of chakra to stick to the wall.
So this is a baby exercise similar to the lead which actually helps in practical shinobi lessons.
'I'll call this {Standing Wall-Steps Chakra Exercise}.'
After knowing what to do, I ended up doing 10 reps and four sets. While it did feel slow at first, Guren counted down in her mind and told me my total time.
"Is it my turn now?" Guren suddenly asks seeing my reps finished. Realising this I let her copy the exercise.
Guren walking up to the wall does the exercise a few times before looking back at me. With a happy smirk, she puts one foot on the wall, then she puts the other and sticks it.
Right after this she lets go of one leg and takes a step forward. To my "surprise" she was able to stick her foot and took a few more steps.
'Bro what is this bull fvck.' I inwardly complain keeping a smile that twitched a little on the outside. After a few more steps she suddenly fell down straight to the mattress like it was intended for.
"You're already better than me," I tell her, tears going down my face in shame and defeat. Guren who saw this just giggled.
"Well, I need to be stronger to protect you from anything!"
'Medical ninjutsu might suit her…' I thought hearing her words. While I already planned to make her a medical ninja to become an official shinobi without the academy. It was just an excuse for her to join in my personal team as a Chunin when I leave my Jounin sensei.
In hindsight, a healer supporting me with strong crystal ninjutsu would be absolute class. Investing as much time in her future kekkei genkai as medical ninjutsu would her more versatile.
'Well, that's a thought for years to come. It's time to focus on the present.'
With that thought now in the back of my head, Guren and I did the chakra exercises a bit differently before heading off to sleep.
Tomorrow would be special.
(A/N: Before y'all say this is bull, Shin is 6 years old. He isn't Kakashi or Itachi. Neither is he Sakura who has fully trained her chakra control at the academy at 12. Also after the next chapter, there will be a few month skips as the academy is pretty boring and we don't want to delay 30 chapters for the academy now lol. Maybe around 6-12? It depends.)
