FEELINGS

While Ember slept, Jayden returned to the human world. Jayden stood next to her and stared at her, who was deeply asleep. He didn't know how to tell Ember about bringing their daughter to the spirit world; he was still confused. He sighed and left the room and went to Yaretzi's room. Yaretzi was sound asleep. He stroked Yaretzi's cheek and said, "I'm sorry, my daughter, your father is useless. I feel like I'm just using you to break my curse. I'm totally useless. I don't deserve to be your father."

Jayden was sad and angry with himself when he expressed his feelings. Ember was standing behind him and heard what he said. She was confused because Jayden was grieving.

"Jayden, what happened to you?"

Jayden turned to look behind him in shock, seeing Ember standing there looking at him with a puzzled expression on her face. When he looks at Ember's face, he can't hide the truth. He hugs Ember tightly and says, "I feel like I failed as a father. I'm totally useless."

"What do you mean? Why are you behaving in this way? Did something happen?"

"After a month, the Red Fox clan gave the order to bring Yaretzi to the spirit world. My curse will be broken this way, but…"

Ember let go of Jayden's hug and looked him in the eyes, "Go to the spirit world?"

Jayden nodded his head with a sad expression.

"Will bringing Yaretzi to the spirit world break your curse?"

"That's what the Red Fox clan chief said. I understand if you disagree. I don't agree either."

Ember shook her head and held both of Jayden's hands.

"I'm fine. Just take Yaretzi to the spirit world, right? However, she can be taken there once she reaches the age of six months. She's still too young at one month old."

"Are you certain you want to take our daughter to the spirit world? The situation is not very safe there."

Jayden's face was filled with worry, but she responded with a cheerful expression.

"I believe you will protect Yaretzi. After all, our daughter is not an ordinary human being. She is also a spirit. Descendant of the fox spirit."

"Descendant of the fox spirit. Hmm... I still don't know what to say in this situation, but, even if I die, I'll protect our daughter."

Jayden hugged Ember tightly. Besides her, he felt his heart and mind become calm.

The day after tomorrow, Camilla arrives at Jayden's mansion with a present for Yaretzi. When Camilla arrives at the mansion, she asks Kyla, "Where is my granddaughter?"

"She's in the room with Ma'am Ember. Do I need to let her know you're coming?"

"There is no need."

Camilla said as she walked towards Yaretzi's room. As Camilla slowly entered the room, Ember and Yaretzi fell asleep on a mattress on the floor. Yaretzi blinks and opens her eyes. But Ember was still sleeping. Camilla carried Yaretzi and said, "My granddaughter, I miss you. Your mother must be tired of looking after you all day and night, so please be a good child."

She awoke from her slumber. She turned to look. Camilla's presence astounded her.

"Mom, how long have you been here? I'm sorry, I didn't realise you were here. "

"I've just arrived. You must be tired of caring for Yaretzi. You should ask for the help of Kyla and Tina in looking after Yaretzi."

"They always take care of Yaretzi. But today I fell asleep while singing her a lullaby."

"That's great to hear. Uhm... Jayden said he wouldn't bring Yaretzi to the spirit world until she was six months old."

Camilla's words shocked her because she was concerned that Yaretzi would be forced to go there at the age of one month. Camilla continued, "We've already informed the chief of the red fox clan. He said it's fine as long as she's over a month old but not over a year."

Ember was happy to hear the news. She responded cheerfully.

"I'm glad to hear that."

"I also believe that one month is too soon for Yaretzi." Camilla expresses her thoughts.

"Uhm... mom, please look after Yaretzi when she's taken to the spirit world."

"Don't worry about it. We'll take care of her. She's my beloved granddaughter. I won't let anything happen to her."

It's been five months since Yaretzi was born. Jasper invites Aubrey to lunch at a restaurant. Jasper is 29 years old and has brown hair with a fringe and dark brown eyes. Aubrey and Jasper entered the restaurant together. Waiters at restaurants show their tables. Aubrey was surprised to see Xander in the restaurant, as they headed for their table. They locked gazes. Xander was also taken aback. Aubrey took a look at the woman sitting next to Xander. The woman had shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes and looked sexy. Xander was looking at Jasper at the same time. Aubrey pretended not to know Xander and sat down with Jasper. Aubrey and Xander sat at the table next to each other.

"What would you like to eat, Aubrey? Just order your food, whatever you want to eat."

"Anything is fine."

"Okay, fine. I'll order a lot of food for you." Jasper responded cheerfully.

"Ehh.... What if I get fat?"

"I'm sure you're still beautiful no matter what. You're still beautiful in my eyes."

Jasper stated flirtatiously. Hearing Jasper's words, Xander frowned and became irritated. His expression changed. The woman who was with Xander noticed a change in Xander's facial expression.

"Are you okay, Xander? Why do you appear to be in a bad mood?"

The woman inquired as she touched Xander's face. Aubrey clenched her fist when she saw the woman was friendly towards Xander.

"Aubrey, Aubrey, Aubrey... Are you okay?"

Jasper called out Aubrey's name many times, and she had just realized that Jasper was calling her name.

"What happened to you? Are you okay?"

Jasper inquired as he touched Aubrey's forehead. Xander was drinking water at the time, and his gaze was drawn to Jasper, who was touching Aubrey's forehead. He averted his gaze. The woman stares at Xander with confusion. Xander's facial reaction is like he feels uneasy. With a sad expression on her face, the woman inquired,

"Why are you behaving strangely, Xander? You weren't happy when I invited you to lunch with me?"

"Oh... Amora, please accept my apologies. I was just thinking about something else."

Xander responded with a forceful smile. He also thinks he's not in the right mind right now because of Aubrey.

Aubrey glanced at Xander, and she was annoyed to see him smile. He had a smile on his face, huh! He never smiles at me. He really is a fox, a perverted fox. Jasper was staring at Aubrey, and he was intrigued when he noticed that Aubrey appeared to be upset.

"Aubrey, don't you like it if I take you to lunch with me?"

"N-No, you just misunderstood. I'm glad you invited me to lunch."

Aubrey tried to explain it to Jasper. Ahh… I'm really distracted today. It's all because of that perverted fox, which makes my eyes hurt. The truth is she was jealous. She just didn't want to admit it. She didn't like seeing him with another woman.

"I'm glad to hear that."

Jasper smiled. He felt relieved. Aubrey got a phone call while they were eating. Aubrey reaches for her phone. Her father is on call.

"Hello, Dad, what's the matter? Hello, Dad. Are you there? Dad, what happened? Why aren't you talking?"

Aubrey inquired, a little concerned. Xander overheard her conversations and was curious, so he kept listening.

"Dad, did something happen?"

"He's gone."

"What do you mean?"

"Your grandfather... is no longer with us. He has passed away."

It's hard for Aubrey to believe her father when she hears his words.

"Dad! Are you kidding me? When we visited him, he was in good health. Why did he suddenly..."

Aubrey's tears began to flow. She also thought that it was impossible for her father to joke about her grandfather's death. Xander was staring at Aubrey, shocked that she was crying and wondering what happened to her, what made her cry.

Jasper also started to worry after seeing Aubrey suddenly crying. With a concerned voice, he asked, "Aubrey, what happened? Why are you crying?"

"Aubrey, we're going to the haunted village today. Go home and get ready."

"Yes, Dad..." Aubrey responded in a gloomy tone. The phone call was then hung up by his father.

"Aubrey... what happened?" Jasper asked once more.

"I'm sorry Jasper, but I won't be able to accompany you to lunch. I have to leave now. My... my grandfather passed away..."

Xander was taken aback by Aubrey's words. He also thought that was unbelievable. Simultaneously, Xander receives a phone call from Jayden.

"Hello, master..."

"Today we're going to the Haunted Village. Victor has passed away."

"Yes, I know about that." Xander replied with a sad expression.

"Let's get ready. We're all going there."

"Yes, master." After they hung up the call, Xander looked at Amora.

"I'm sorry, Amora, but I have to leave. Something happened."

Then Xander stood up, but Amora grabbed Xander's wrist and pleaded.

"Xander, don't leave me alone."

"I'm sorry. But this is an urgent matter." Xander said, with a serious face. Seeing Xander's serious expression, she released her hand. Xander looked at Aubrey, who was in tears. He wished to comfort her, but he thought he didn't deserve to be the one to comfort her. Then he simply left the restaurant.

They arrived at the haunted village at the same time. Aubrey with her father and mother. Drake Wallace is 55 years old and has short orange hair and sterling grey eyes. Luna Wallace, her mother, has shoulder-length brown hair, marble grey eyes, and is 49 years old.

"Please accept my heartfelt condolences for you and your family." Jayden said to them.

"We appreciate you joining us here." Drake responded with a sad expression.

"Let's go inside." Luna said, and they went into Victor's house because his body was there.

Ember and Aubrey walked inside, holding hands. Some villagers are present inside the house. When they went inside, his body was already in the coffin. Drake, down on his knees, burst into tears as he looked at Victor.

"Father, I'm sorry. I promised to pay you a visit next month, but why did you suddenly leave? I… I should have come earlier to see you. I'm sorry, father... Please accept my apologies for being late…"

"Dear, I'm sure your father didn't blame you. We also didn't expect this to happen."

Luna attempted to calm Drake, but Drake was still sobbing on his knees next to Victor. Luna pulled Drake up and took him to sit on the sidelines so other visitors could pay their respects. Aubrey was still standing. She couldn't believe her beloved grandfather had died unexpectedly.

"Aubrey, let us pay our respects to Grandpa Victor." Ember's eyes welled up with tears.

Aubrey walked slowly towards Victor's coffin. Aubrey burst into tears just by looking at Victor's face.

"G-Grandpa, grandpa, why did you leave us? Why don't you wait? I promised to bring your grandson-in-law. I promise to let you see my wedding and your great-grandson. But... but why... Did you leave so soon?"

Ember hugged Aubrey, and they cried together. Xander felt sorry for Aubrey. He desperately wanted to hug and comfort Aubrey, but he was nobody to her. Jayden and Xander walk over to Victor's coffin to pay their respects. Jayden frowns when he looks at Victor's body because he notices something is wrong with Victor's body. Jayden cast a glance at Xander, and Xander also appeared to be seeing something.
