A Letter

He grabs Kiyoko's legs and pushes him to the ground flipping over top of him and pulling back his fist effectively winning the match. both of them breathing heavy, their breath cold.

"i win, nice try Kiyoko" Frederic laughed and stood up.

"I will get you next time" they both laughed as Frederic helped kiyoko to a standing position.

"its probably best if we head inside, don't wanna keep the chef waiting on us" he laughed again as Kiyoko agrees following him through the castle to the large dining room which was also used as a dinning room on occasion. Kiyoko took a seat and in front of him sat three plates, a bowl, and silverware. one of a beautiful barbecue steak with a red tint and barbecue sauce covering it. declaratory leaves covering the rest of the place. on the second plate sat three large baked potato's with steam rising from them, around the plate sat three smaller plates with toppings. on the third plate sat a Delicious looking chocolate chip cake slice with marshy chocolate syrup covering it and a strawberry on top. in the bowl was a large soup with noodles, meat, mushrooms, and more. the silverware a beautiful gold with Grey accents.

"this is as amazing as yesterday" Kiyoko's mouth was watering as he remembers his manners lesson from the king a few days before. he picks up his fork and knife delicately cutting into the steak and picking it up with his fork and eating it using the paper towel given to wipe his face off the sauce. Frederic holding back a laugh.

"You have really gotten the hang of the royalty thing pretty fast haven't you?" he looked away covering his snicker.

"i guess so" he kept eating as Oji enters in and sits down with a disgusted look on his face.

"you've gotta be kidding me!, he's actually gonna start living with us? a peasant like him!?" the King putting his silverware down.

"Oji, we do not talk like that!, he has nowhere to go, do you want him going back to being those bandit's toy?" Oji grits his teeth and looks away whispering.

"it would be better that way" the king sits back down.

"so Frederic, how is Kiyoko's training going?" Frederic looks at the king while eating.

"oh, he's successfully graduated with a high score, he's about as strong as me, not sure though cause i think he was holding back" both of them look at kiyoko who looks down.

"well that's good to hear" Frederic smiles as the main doors slam open, a guard gasping for breath.

"sir, King Aristol, you need to report to the front gate, we have received a royal letter and the messenger is awaiting you at the front gate!" Kiyoko is confused as everyone stands up and starts walking out to the front court. the King thanked the Knight on their way out. they make their way out the front door Kiyoko confused.

"what's going on?" Frederic turning to look at Kiyoko.

"normally none of the other royal families ever contact us" they make it outside and open the front gate to see the Royal messenger waiting.

"ah, there you are King Aristol the third of the low class. i have a letter to you from the court of appeals" the king took a step towards the royal messenger as Frederic and Kiyoko looked at each other. the King reaches down and takes the letter from the mans hands and turns to Kiyoko, Oji, and Frederic.

"he's right, this is a letter from the court of appeals" he show the letter to the two of which the letter has an official stamp on it. he opens the letter with care and respect as Kiyoko is confused.

"what's the 'court of Appeals?'" Frederic looks at him as the king retrieves the letter from inside.

"the Court of Appeals is a court system, that the whole country follows. and the court of Appeals is the head, the strongest court in the country" Kiyoko nods as the King grabs their attention.

"okay, this has not met my expectations…" there was silence as Kiyoko swatted away a few nasal flies.

"what does it say?" he showed the letter to the two.

"well, this has never happened before." There was silence between the four of them. Oji speaks up from behind scaring Kiyoko.

"well, the tournament takes place here in about" he paused "2 days from now, im guessing" Frederic and the king look at Oji.

"well, we can't disobey the Court of appeals for sure, so i guess that means were going to a festival Kids" Frederic chuckled, Oji gritting his teeth.

"King sir, does that mean I am going too or no?" Oji turned around to walk away as Frederic laughed even louder.

"of course it does, but i need to talk to you about this Kiyoko" Frederic gestured for him to follow him to a private location. they exit through the second gate into the training field for the castle where Frederic pulls Kiyoko between two guard barracks.

"what is it Frederic?" Frederic sits down on a box against the wall legs crossed.

"if you do end up coming to this tournament with us, be sure to only use one type of Maho, be it you can currently only use 2 types in battle, only use 1 do you understand?" Kiyoko smiles and nods.

"yup, i can do that, why?" Frederic looks out to the training field where the Knights are now practicing.

"you have a Rare type of Maho that only one person in Every Generation has. if you don't use it wisely, the whole world will know of your Maho and wars will brake out between countries trying to use you to their advantage in having a strong military"
