Invitation

I stare out the window at the rain falling and I sigh. It's another gloomy, rainy day. I'm tired of being cooped up in my tiny apartment. I daydream about being a famous artist and traveling the world, but I know it's not a reachable dream. As I lay in my studio bedroom and kitchen, I wish that something exciting would happen. It seems like I'm stuck in a rut, and I don't know how to get out of it.

A knock on my door was heard throughout the apartment next to the ruffling of a letter sliding down my door

Letter? Well that's something exciting isn't it?

I open the letter carefully because for being given to me through the door it looks important with its wax sealing?

As I took out the paper it read:

Dear Silvia,

You are invited to a lavish masquerade ball this evening. Please don your finest mask and come as your mysterious alter ego. All guests must present their invitations at the front door to ensure access to the grand festivities.

P.S. Attire should be elegant and understated. No jeans or other casual clothing allowed. Masks are required for all guests.

Why did it get here?

I glance over the invitation and consider the possibility of attending this masquerade ball. I'm kinda intrigued by the thought of being invited to this rich people party, and the mysterious atmosphere of a masquerade ball is tempting. I haven't been out in a while, and this seems like just the thing.

This not mine but my gut tells me I should go

I'm tired of the mundane life and the loneliness of this city

Maybe Silvia is really coming...
