Her heavy heart did not ease at all even after she returned home.
Stepping into the apartment, in order not to let the baby see her grave expression, Wendy Cassia forced a smile and said, "I'm back."
"Mommy."
As usual, Vicki threw herself into Wendy's arms, buried her head on Wendy's shoulder and took a deep breath. The strong smell of disinfectant in the hospital was very pungent, and Wendy was stained with it. "Mommy, you have the smell of the hospital. What's wrong with you?"
Rubbing the tip of her cute nose dotingly, Wendy smiled and said, "I'm fine. A colleague got hurt. I went to visit her."
"That's good."
Looking up at the clock on the wall, Wendy deliberately avoided the two babies and said, "It's late. You have to go to school tomorrow. Go to bed quickly."
"Okay."
Vicki ran into the room without any doubt. Her careless character was totally different from Wendy's.
