"Is this world made of small Islands or are there bigger ones?" Elias Gobarau wants nothing but a normal life with his wife. Unfortunately, unforeseen forces have other plans for him as he was swallowed by space and found himself in a world of iceans filled with Islands. ***** Myriad Island is a world where intelligence, strength, fate, luck and even destiny means nothing. The only thing that can keep a sentient being sane was clinging to an ever-abstract concept known as Hope. Follow Elias's journey as he faces dangers of all kinds with the hope of understanding his purpose and possible union with his wife. ***** "Sigh, I left the life of chaos I was born in, how the hell did I end up somewhere worse? Or....is this Hell I was sent to for all the horrible things I was tasked to do?" ***** [Note: No Island is useless, only useless dweller that can't figure out it's usefulness!]
The Giant Crucible Elias was using now, wasn't sitting on anything. It was supported by a mechanical structure made from heat-resistant metal, in midair.
The Mechanical Structure was an elaborate connected rod of metals, coated with Zero C.
(Zero Charcoal is Charcoal that was Zero Heat Conductor and Extremely Fire Resistance)
First, Elias had formed something akin to a strong cement using Ashing Clay, Brown Sand, Wure Ash and Metal rods. With it, he made a 200cm × 300cm concrete floor.
Then he rooted four 150cm beams of strong Heavy Steel in a rectangular pattern. Following the floor structure, in a 100cm × 200cm.
The two sides that were 100cm, the two beams were connected on top with another thin beam. And on either side was covered with sheets of steel that block wind and debris. While also at the right side centre, behind the sheet of steel was a Gear connected with a short rod attached to Steering Wheel.
The Gear was also connected toward the centre of the four rooted beams, using a thick, hard, tough, heat resistance beam that curved to a wide circle of 45cm Radius. And then the beam became straight again and reached the left side attached to another Gear.
Elias has suffered making that beam with a circle at the centre.
The Crucible was inserted inside the circular beam, as the top of the Crucible was curved out, almost twisting, the curve sat on the Circle and Elias poured melted Steel and fused them.
The top of the Crucible was 69cm which made its feet on its seat.
Below the Giant Crucible was a wide Steel Sheet with numerous tiny holes, seating on a wide rectangular Black Bowl. On the Steel Sheet, Wure Charcoal burnt fiercely while the bowl below collected the Ash from them.
There was also a side helmet for the Steel Sheet and the Bowl below, it was used to cover it and also the helmet was connected with a metal pipe that attached to a Blower in the form of a Bicycle!
Today, Elias stood before his Forge as he had been planning to make something extraordinary—a Metal that he accidentally discovered—during his countless experiments.
The Metal was the Lightest he came across and also the Strongest of them all. When the metal cooled down after three days Elias couldn't bend it, scratch it, and it weighed as much as feathers.
The first time he found it was when his last Crucible melted after using Double Standard Firing. The Crucible was so hot that it became red and melted, so Elias was forced to allow it to cool down for days.
The moment it cooled down, it broke on itself. With ease, Elias broke the part that stood with his hands and legs.
Thinking of recycling them, he put them into a motor and smashed them with a pistol, repeatedly.
When he was separating them he came across The Metal, he took it and threw it away, thinking it was a peel of a Casting Wood. Elias by that time was using his hand to feel around so he didn't recognize its nature.
Though it was smooth, the peel of Casting Wood was smooth too. Especially the insides.
At sunset he had arranged everything in order, Elias used Omni-view to observe everything, his attention was dragged to it. The Metal wasn't just Lustrous White but it has a mixture of Red, Silver, and Shades of black.
The Metal was about the size of a palm with a rough uneven oval shape, less than 1cm thickness and it was not heavy at all.
By feeling it with a hand, it felt weak, but if strength was applied, it wouldn't bulge.
Elias had experimented on it. However, nothing he did changed its form or scratched it.
It was because of it, that he made a Mechanical Hammer and placed The Metal under the Hammer. And by rotating the wheel, the Hammer slammed down repeatedly.
In the end, it was the Mechanical Hammer that broke as for The Metal, it doesn't even have a scratch.
Therefore, Elias had goosebumps!
He grabbed his Wand with a frown and said, "I will throw you in the Sea if you fail to tell me what composition it has... I made it, so you have recorded it." As if the Wand is conscious.
Elias turned off the Force field and stood at the edge of the island with a scowl. On one hand, his Wand and on the other was the new Metal.
"What Metal Is This!"
Elias asked as if interrogating a criminal.
[Unknown Metal]
[The most resilient metal on this island]
Elias moved his hand back and was about to throw it…
[It comprises iron, zinc, alim…]
"Good grace you save yourself from drowning," Elias said with a smile. But as he read the combination and rough composition, he frowned.
Ever since then he had been trying to make it but failed. The Metal was also the driving force that pushed Elias forward to have different creative ideas.
until today, Elias has not been able to melt it. In fact, it seems to be a very bad conductor of heat.
The Giant Crucible has been burning for a day now. And it was already filled with Ore debris and impurities.
Most of them have high melting points and some of them can melt easily but will just burn off and turn to ashes. That was one of the things he needed.
For that Double Standard Fire was needed. Which was;
As the Wure Charcoal burned furiously, the Bicycle as the Blower blew air constantly with a slight spray of Wure Liquid.
Elias rode the Bicycle and he started pedalling as the Blower, the rotation of air-suspended spins rotated several Fans in a two Metal Box on either side of the Bicycle.
The furious rotation of Fans blew air through Metal Pipes toward the Furnace Helmet.
Elias has made up his mind that he was not going to stop unless he finished what he started. Food and water were beside him on the right Metal Box while other materials he may need were on the Left Metal Box.
In just a minute of blowing air the inside of the Crucible began to heat up and became red. With a smile, Elias watched some materials begin to melt and some materials became ashes.
He had done this many times and he had come very close to success.
Using this method, he made a Steel metal with extreme toughness and hardness but very heavy.
He used the Steel to forge spears that were arranged around the Island. He also used it to reinforce his underground Bunker. It was also with it he made the Mechanical Device holding the Giant Crucible… and other things.
As he blew the air and occasionally spray Wure liquid the Charcoal burned with fury. And he threw more Charcoal into the fire.
By the time noon came, the materials had become molten like magma and it's bubbling.
The heat permeated the Island as Elias's sweat drenched his clothes.
An hour later, the bubble reduced like magma was cooling down. But on top of it was Silver Liquid, behaving just like water. It flowed around mesmerizingly as the slow bubble pushed it around!
That was the Dense Heavy Steel. As soft as it behaves, a just centilitre of it was almost a kilogram.
The more the Silver Liquid accumulated and swayed around, it began to affect the Giant Crucible to sway with it. Due to its heaviness.
When the Silver Liquid accumulated enough, it was no longer swayed by the bulging bubbles, as its weight overcame the magma rigidity and the push-up of the pressured air, the Silver Liquid flowed inside.
The intense heat treatments going at the centre of semi-solid materials force the Silver Liquid to vapourised and seep into the Semi-solid materials again.
After an hour, the Silver Liquid formed again on the top of the Semi-solid materials behaving the same way, and when it accumulated enough, it flowed inside. And it vapourised and seeped back into the Semi-solid material.
This happened repeatedly until the Silver Liquid no longer came out.
At that time the Sun was in the West.
All this while, Elias was paddling which blew air, sprayed Wure liquid, and added more Wure Charcoal to maintain the heat intensity, from time to time.
He did take a couple of short rest for a minute or so, but that was when he added more Wure Liquid and Wure Charcoal, with that the fire was burning in fury.
