Chapter 57 Idiosyncratic

"D-Duel! I challenge you to a duel!" shouted by a handsome young man with jet black hair.

Cleo raise one of his eyebrows in confusion. He can't help but ask, what he did to this young man and why he's challenging him to a duel.

He knew the meaning of it due to him having some experience playing MMORPG back in his previous world. However he's not sure what does it mean in this new world. Its not like this is a game.

The red headed young man's contemplation was abruptly stopped when the old man intervenes.

"Even if you're my number one student. I will not tolera..." the old man cut his own words. 'Wait, this might be a good chance to see if he's the real deal or he's just another spoiled noble that for some reason won't brag about the family name he came from' says by the old man inwardly.

A grin form on the old man's face. A grin that says he's up to no good.

Both Cleo and Brett felt a chill down their spine. For two different reasons.

'I have a bad feeling about this.' says by Cleo inwardly who can't do anything but to avert his gaze to avoid the second hand embarrassment.

"What do you say young man?" asked by the old man to Cleo.

Cleo didn't really want to have this duel, whatever that word may mean in this world. However can he really afford to turn down the challenge when even the Guild Leader of Hallows looks like wants it to happen.

After a few moments of pondering, Cleo thought of an idea that can make everyone happy. However before he can utter his reply.

"Don't even think of not fighting seriously." mutter by the old man, loud enough that the red headed young man overheard it.

"Mind if I take a rain check on that challenge?" asked by Cleo politely.

"Why do it later when you're both available right now." says by the old man.

"Can't really help it Guild Master. I think even this commoner can recognize that our boss man is on a different level." boast by the thin lackey while puffing out his pitiful looking chest.

The remarks irritates Cleo, his eyebrows twitches and bit his lips. The reason why he's hesitant to accept the duel is not because he's scared. Even if these three trainee fights him at the same time he can easily win. The primary reason is to avoid unwanted attention and not to give any more reason to the old man to pursue with the notion of marriage.

"Please let's not forget that there's an urgent matter at hand." says by Cleo, directed at the old man.

The old man burst out laughing making all the witness tilt their head to the side in confusion.

"Don't be like that young man! I analyzed your plan, we have a day or two leeway." says by the old man.

This is the last nail in the coffin. The old man made his final move to check mate the red headed young man.

Cleo gave up and follows the old man to the training ground. It is located at the basement of the Hallows Guild. After entering, bunch of scarecrow looking dummy position next to each other with a reasonable distance between them can be seen.

The young elves, dwarves, orcs and humans that are training hard stops what they were doing and glance at the direction of their Guild Master. One by one, they made a salute before resuming their training. Some kept looking at their Guild Master and wonders who was the red headed young man with him.

Before Alger and his company can settle in the training ground. A well proportioned girl that has an azure eyes that matches her hair dash towards Alger. The girl has the same height of Cleo, her long azure hair reach up to her slender waist and a scent of jasmine invades the boys' nose.

"Gramps! What are you doing here?" asked by the girl. Sweat trickles from her forehead, a sign of doing an intense training.

"Do I need a reason to see my lovely grand daughter?" retort by the old man, the monstrous appearance suddenly change into that of a doting grand parent.

"I know you gramps. So?" probe by the girl.

"Alright you got me. There's someone I want to introduce to you but before that let's go sit over there first." answered by the old man. "Give us an entertaining show." he added while shifting his gaze at the two young man.

The azure haired girl glances at Cleo before settling in with her grand father. This is the first time he see this young man but for some reason she felt a familiar aura coming from him.

Cleo took the slim opportunity to check the girl's status before heading out to his duel.

[Avery] [Lv. 30]

[Race: Dragonkin]

[Job: Fencer]

[Class Skill]

Rapier Mastery | Mana Infused: Parry | Mana Infused: Lunge | Mana Infused: Riposte | Dragon Soul (Unique Skill)

Cleo's eyes widened. He scratch his eyes to make sure that he's just not seeing things. He look once again and the status of the girl remains the same.

'Dragonkin? I thought this world only have four races. Every book I read has the same information about the four major races which are the elves, dwarves, orcs and humans that inhabits the world of Queredean.' says by Cleo inwardly while scratching his brain, trying to rack up his brain if there's something he's missing.

He thought of asking the old man about this however he chose not to. At least not for now, when he's still not sure yet on where they were gonna stand after taking down Camilla. He'll just ask Valerie or even Clyde once he gets back.

Cleo shakes his head to regain his composure and proceed to take position at the other side of the handsome young man who challenged him to a duel.

The trainees notice the commotion and once again halt their training to watch what is going on.

After exchanging a few words with her grand daughter, Alger position himself at the middle of the two young man. He explains the rules in details. The way to win is to render your opponent unable to move without using lethal force. A verbal confirmation of surrender is also a valid way of winning.

"Looks like we have a huge audience." says by the old man. "Ready and position yourselves!" he added.

After waiting for the two young man to settle the old man shouted.

"BEGIN THE DUEL!"
