My World Now

This is my first attempt at a story. Even if no one read it I am having fun. It’s a story about a women who finds herself in a world unknown. The sky is purple and the Elves hang out in the trees to the south waiting to attack and eat you alive. This is a chapter sample Village My red wings blend well in the dark sky. This is a small village, if you can call it that, not even fifty houses. The village is on a small hill. The roofs are a light blue grass and the walls are an orange stone. There are no walls encasing the town. There are a few rows of a purple flower surrounding the village. The leafs are blue with red vines through them. These are flowers that give off a perfume that the beasts don't like. The flowers also surround part of the field that has creatures that walk on two legs. They look something like dinosaurs/large chickens with no feathers, and skin like an elephant. They are used like horses. The grass is a light blue and reaches to the forest. Not a person can be seen in the village. Not a light in any of the houses. "When darkness comes all babies should be in bed cause monsters play at night." I laugh at myself and dive. A red light lances through the sky from the column on the nearest corner of the village just missing me "Now that pisses me off," I say out loud, and let loose a black flame from my mouth. The flame hits the column. Then I let loose another. This time I hear a scream as the house I aim at bursts into flames. I blast house after house.

Void Bag

It has been ten days sense the day I started looking for away to make a windshield. I'm outside the tower. The back wall has been repaired and a new door is being put on fresh hinges in the front.

Today the lower part of my dress is purple. It seems to change color every night. I've got a small hammer in hand and am making some finishing touches on a necklace I'm making. Tapping a silver piece of metal in place around a crystal. I've sliced the crystal in half and between the two pieces sealed some plants and other materials including feathers from the Fliota. Once done I pick it up and examine it closely.

Getting the feathers hadn't been easy. The small bird like creatures are fast. Once I got my hands on the right colored one I was in for a surprise. They look like Japanese beetles the size of a fist. They are covered with small feathers that look like hairs, and instead of normal wing they are made of long feathers of varying colors that come out of the hard shell.

I put the necklace on and head into the tower to the second floor balcony where I have some of the knock out powder ready. I take the jar out, take a small breath and let a spark come out of my mouth landing on the powder. A thick black smoke fills the air and I start coughing. After a few minutes I stop, the smoke is still billowing out from the jar. My eyes are watering but I'm ok. I sit there breathing it in for a good 15 minutes. After about five minutes my eyes stop watering and the smoke has little to no effect. I've done it. I smile, cover the jar and head inside.

As I walk down the stairs jar in hand Wizzal is coming up with an orange leather bag in his hand. He passes it to me and says, "All you have to do is be the first one to place something in the Void bag and it's linked only to you. Now how about a few more samples as a reward for all my hard work."

I smile take the bag and place the jar of dust inside. Raise my arm, hand sticking straight up. Small threads come out of my hand and quickly start accumulating on him. He looks at me in surprise and says, "Fascinating, this isn't what I had in mind but truly astounding." I laugh as I think "At least the thread don't come out my ass." I pass by him take a book from a nearby shelf and head out the door. Leaving him standing there as he examines the thread.

I head out to my cave unblock it and add everything I'd hidden into the bag. Over 100 crystals, coins, clothing, dried food, blankets, dishes, even a few tools.

I then head to a field in the woods. As I get closer my shape shifts to my nature form. The dress once again become a tank top and shorts. This is where I practice, moving the thread I work on creating shapes. I'm already able to wrap it around a tree. Soon after I'm working on catching moving objects with the thread.

A little before dark I stop to take a drink and pull the book I grabbed out and I start reviewing it one more time before nightfalls. As the sunsets I get to work.

The whole world has been wrapped in a veil of darkness. The sound of buzzing can be heard in the distance. I'm breathing heavy as a black fire dog runs around in front of me. My arm stretched out in front of me as I think, "This needs to become second nature. " My arm falls to my side and the dog vanishes with a whimper. It's starting to have life. "I'm not done yet," I think as once again I raise my arm and the dog once again starts to take shape.

Hours later I'm laying on the ground breathing heavy, exhausted. I slowly fall into a deep sleep after climbing into a nearby tree for the night. As I drift off I think, "I should have grabbed my hammock."

I wake up a little before daybreak. The sky is just starting to turn red and blue in the distance. I jump down from the tree an idea in my mind. I run through the forest bag across my shoulder. My shape shifting as I go to cat mode.

In a few minutes I find myself in front of one of the entrances to the caves. In the last week I've spent a fair amount of time getting to know these caves and tunnels just for this. I head deep into the tunnels and to the sorting cave. Ten carts set loaded with crystals. Twenty workers sit with buckets of crystals sorted around them. The carts are 4 x 5 and 4 feet tall with wheels on each one. They are set on tracks and have handles that set in grooves on the one next to it. They remind me of wooden mining carts.

I let a breath of blue fire loose and watch as the flames fill the tunnel. I hear screaming in the room as smoke starts to enter, buckets of crystals are tipped over in the attempt to escape. I walk through the flames and enter the now empty cave as the flames part for me. I light the other tunnels on fire as well to keep anyone who may come back at bay. When I cross the room to stand in front of the carts a smile crosses my face.

I reach into the first cart and stop when my hand is setting on top of the crystals about to take the first handful. I stand up straight and think, "It may work, it's worth a shot." I walk over to the far end of the line of carts and slide the bag over the handle. Whoosh. A large wind whips through the room. My fire bursts bigger then quickly settles back down. The whole cart has vanished. I smile and think, "You got to love magic."

I move from one cart to the other sucking them into the bag. Then head back out the tunnel I came in. No sooner do I leave the fires start to die down and I hear the clang of one more cart coming down the track. I smile and head towards the surface once more.

Once I get to the surface I shift back to the Florensin shape and head to the tower. Wizzal is combining his void crystals with other elements trying to make the bag that I want. There is a small explosion smoke fills the air around him as he backs up coughing and waving his hand in front of his face.

Wizzal is a visionary surprising as it sounds. He is the first person to combine crystals and make new crystals. Once he releases his findings the whole world will change. Normally once you empty a crystal of magic in about 30 seconds it starts to disintegrate rapidly.

He starts pouring the power from other crystals into the empty crystal before this happens and makes another crystal. By combining the different kinds of magic you pour into said crystal and in different amounts you can make another completely new kind of crystal. So after emptying a crystal you can use this new crystals magic putting it into a new crystal with others and make something new again.

This is what he is trying now with very little success. I chuckle as he turns around black soot covering his face. He wipes his face and says, "It isn't that funny. It's hard work and I'm not giving up." He turns back to his work once the smoke dissipates and I turn towards the stairs. I stop and half turn back and ask, "What kind of magic do the Florensin have." He doesn't even look up as he says, "Normally earth or maybe water the rare born can use light." I head up the stairs and find the books I'd been looking through earlier that week. One on water and another on earth.

According to the books it's a simple test to see if you have the aptitude for a certain element. Each test is different but for the basic elements just put both your hands together over a container of the element with the correct crystal in the middle concentrate and if you have that affinity then the crystal will pull the element toward the crystal. Fire you need wood and fire will burst forth. So it's not all the same but for water and earth it will work.

I have no affinity for any other element that I can find besides fire, but I've yet to try it with my Florensin shape so maybe. I get everything ready and try water, "hmmm nothing. Water is a bust." Next I try earth as I watch the earth moves towards the crystal and away from the walls of the jar. I take out the crystal smile and think, "Now this opens up a lot of possibilities."
