CHAPTER 1: Rusania.

in the town of Rusania, there is an institution that teaches the skills and techniques for killing immortals and also fights against the selling of human beings to immortals through the black market. But still, they mainly deal with vampires. When the students are skilled enough they are given a mission to handle. These students are called THE VAINS:The vampire assassin institutions.

Evelyn and Nicholas, grade 1 students (The top-ranked students), were walking towards the head council's room since they were informed to come after their training classes.

"So What do you think? do you think they want us to go for another mission?". Nicholas asked as they walked through the school hallway.

"Yeah, we are grade 1 after all so I think so too," Evelyn said proudly as they walked through the hallway then she continued."But didn't they add Helen too, she could help". Evelyn replied.

" I don't know but you should be used to the logic already, we always go in twos, the last time it was you and Helen while I was sent to exorcise the evil beast in the woods".

"Were you scared or was it tough?". Evelyn asked with a mocking smile.

" No, and yes it was pretty tough". Nicholas said as they entered through the door of the council's room.

On seeing them entering the council Thomas said " Welcome students, have a sit".

They took their seats then Evelyn voiced "Mam, sir we were told to report here earlier today, is there a problem?".

" Yes my dear, there seems to be, we have heard that violent monsters from the land of devils which is called demonville are roaming around in the town". Council Bertha said worriedly.

"So, you want us to stop them". Nicholas asked.

" Yes, only you can do it, you two are among the grade 1 students, top 2 at that. So we are counting on you two". Council Thomas said.

"Okay, for we will be leaving to prepare for the journey," Evelyn said as the both of them stood to leave the room but they were stopped.

Wait, you guys should go to the medical lab to meet council Anna to give you two full body checkups and painkillers, in case you need to replenish yourselves from any stress. After that meet with council Albert to give you both 500 gold coins each, take this letter, I have signed on it when you show it to her she will understand and know what to do". Council Thomas said as he raised his hand and gave them the paper.

" And, remember you are leaving tomorrow night, we won't be there to see you off but by 7 pm on the dot a carriage will come to pick you two up". council Bertha said then she paused then continued after seeing them nod " I wish you two a safe trip. And remember, anything we do is for the good of our people".

"Yes mam, sir". After saying that they left.

As soon as they got to the hallway Nicholas said " I knew it".

"Hmm, I will go change my clothes, I stink". Evelyn said.

" Okay then, so the three of us could meet at dinner time is fine with the both of you".

"Hmm, we will hang out tonight. it has been long since the three of us spend time together, so let's do that before we leave for the mission again". After saying that they went separate ways.

On her way to the girl's dorm rooms, she met Helen on the way and they walked to their rooms together.

So how was the job you were given?". When they got to their room Evelyn asked as she started taking off her boots and jackets.

" Oh, it was an easy kill but seriously that beast got skills that I am exhausted at the moment". Helen said then hurriedly pounce on the bed and yawned.

"You won't be for long".

" Meaning?".

" Nicholas invited us for dinner".

"Don't tell me you accepted, oh no I was planning on sleeping throughout the night but my dream was crushed before it even started. What have I ever done to you to deserve this" Helen said while faking tears.

At least you have time to do that tomorrow". Evelyn said.

"Huh, I am going on another mission tomorrow".

" I see".

"What?".

" Oh, Nicholas and I are going to demonville tomorrow night, you know some monsters breakout".

"Hmm".

" So where are you going?".

"I have been sent to weirdville". Helen said nonchalantly.

" You know sometimes, I think that our council is horrible, why the hell will they send you there alone, do they hate you that much?" Evelyn grumbled.

" It is not a new thing, it is just my time to prove myself of being capable, being a top 3 is already getting tiring you know".

"Whatever, since we are done let's go have dinner now, then we can come back to sleep earlier". Saying that she dragged Helen forcefully and lead her to the dining hall.

In the dining hall, just a little higher than 70 students were available. Getting into VAINS isn't an easy task by the way, the testing process is just too hard so people just can't handle the stress or fail the test at the institution.

" So what are you girls having for dinner?". Nicholas asked as he saw them walking toward him.

" Fried Chicken with fried potatoes". Evelyn replied.

"Escargot". Helen replied with a smile.

" Oh, it has been long since I saw that beautiful smile on your face". Nicholas smiled as he said that.

"Oh yeah, the council didn't give me a break, and I am exhausted, tsk I am still going on another mission tomorrow. So much stress and trouble". Helen did said with a loud yawn.

" Hmm, let go have dinner quickly, then after that we will go straight to bed". Evelyn said as she forcefully pull her to serve their food.

When they finished eating their food, they chat for sometime and then they departed by waving each other a good night. Immediately they got to their respective rooms they crashed on their beds.
