She turned her head, gave Aria Rowlett a cold glance, then pivoted and walked into the house.

Mr. Rowlett tried to comfort her. "You know your mother's temperament. Your brother has been in jail for several days, and we can't find any way to bail him out. Your mother loves your brother dearly, so she speaks impulsively."
"But she doesn't really think that way at heart."
