Angel's POV

'It's just an excuse to turn him down.' I replied to Gabriel.

'But he thinks what you say is true.'

'If you don't want to, I can skip it.'

'No, you should go, and I'll go with you.'

After saying that, Gabriel looked to Mark, "Of course, we shouldn't refuse Alpha Mark's hospitality."

Mark also looked at Gabriel, and there seemed to be an invisible war between them.

Mark took us to a fancy restaurant where he was a familiar customer. He asked Gabriel and me about our tastes and then ordered a number of dishes.

During the meal, we kept quiet.

Gabriel kept pouring water and cutting steaks for me, and I enjoyed his thoughtfulness.

"You really have a good mate." Mark suddenly said.

Good mate? Sometimes. I said in my heart.

"Is Alpha Mark jealous of me?" Gabriel handed me the cut steak and said, "After all, your mate is dead, isn't she?"
