A mission?

"What are you doing?" It was Xianner who interrupted my perfect practice.

"Ahh!" I panicked and got jump scared, because I was doing something that wasn't too appropriate in front of other, plus, I thought I was alone. What are you doing here?! I wanted to shout such words right in front of her face, However, I did not, and kindly spoke instead.

"Phew… You almost scared me. I was just trying to pronounce some words that a friend of mine always used to say. What are you doing here so soon, by the way?" I decided to ask her in the most respectful way that I could think of.

"I'm here for you." Xianner told me directly, which honestly surprised me.

"What??" I asked as a result, with a long face, and a very questionable look.

"Your PP. It has quite an interesting aura. After I told the elders about it, they were interested in seeing it, as they were wondering if you had a unique talent."

"Oh… Really?"

"Yes. I am supposed to bring you there now. Are you coming?"

"Uhm… I… Can't. I have this family related stuff to do first, you see. I can after two to three weeks though."

"Hmm… I see. You don't have to come then, but make sure that you enter the sect's examination of this year. I'm guessing that you're also here because of that. It's after three weeks, in case you forgot how many days there are left before the examination. There will be quite the surge of people in this town, so you don't have to worry about not noticing the day of the examination. Don't stay too far off though, and make sure to participate in the examination. If you don't, you'll have to make sure that you pay for the amount of days you stay inside my house. If you do, foods and drinks are on me, and staying here is free. Also, thank you about telling me about my roommate. He's dead by the way, and the ring must've been the part of the rent that he is supposed to pay this year, and probably a gift to me, since it would be a loss if the items inside his ring were to be stolen. There are quite the amount of greedy people in this region by the way, which I assume you don't know about, since you're a foreigner."

"Thank you, I did indeed not know about that. And yes, I am not from here."

"Very well. I'll share the items with you once you've passed the examination. I'll be going again then. Good bye."

This damn wench. I know what she is planning already! Why would she even let me stay here for free and even provide me food and drinks? It's probably because there's something valuable inside the ring, which she is probably going to use in these three weeks. After that, she'll probably give me the left overs.

'Damn it! It should've been mine!' I screamed inside my mind as I stood on my knees, slamming the floor with the bottom of my fist. Life is so unfair, and I just had to be the victim of it.

*Sigh* Whatever. Let bygones be bygones, and let the strong continue preying on the weak. Guess I'll be strong then, so I can have that thief below my knees! Wait… She's tall though. Almost as tall as me… Upon realization of this world's cruelty, I decided to fall to the floor that wasn't too far away from my head already, and figured that I should rest for a few minutes.

Oh my, I think that that might have been more than a few minutes. Last thing I remember is that the color of the lighting was orange… Now it's a bit white and yellow. Oh… I just realized that I've slept for more than twelve hours. Welp, it's time to go out I guess. Where can I find some normal pythons though… I should ask around. Since I would have to kill a snake to get its extract, I'll need some money first to buy some weapons. Nevertheless, that isn't a problem, as I had already noticed a sack of some interesting crystals when I was exploring this house, which should be this towns currency. Indeed it was, and thanks to it, I was able to buy a fine spear with half the amount of crystals that what was inside the sack.

I sing happily as I make my way to an unknown forest. I've already asked a couple of cultivators around where I can find a normal python snake, and am trying to remember the exact direction that they had explained to me. Yeah… I didn't want to get lost nor enter a dangerous beast's territory. I cherish my life, so why would I do that?

*Wiener* I hear the sound of an eleven year old boy saying the word "Wiener" all of a sudden. It is similar to the one I've heard in a funny video that I had watched in the past, so I am not sure If I heard it correct, or if it is just my mind bringing back strange memories.

'Wait a minute…' I thought, slowly realizing that that strange voice might have been the sound of the system's notification.

What the… Are you telling me that instead of receiving the "Ding" sound effect that is quite common in the comics that I read, I'll get this annoying kid that will be ear-raping me with the word wiener instead?! Nahhh. That's too absurd. Can it be changed in the future though, is my real question. If it's not possible… I… I'll have to get used to it… Isn't that the same as living in a nightmare?!

*Sigh* "I guess this is my life now, huh…" I muttered, full of unknown regret. Well… Good things always have some bad things in them. There is nothing to complain about…
