Desperately, the person behind me moved herself away from my back, before she genuinely began to apologize to me.

Yep, it is a girl. I think… Well, her jaw looks biologically like a girl's. Not that that matters anyway, and not that I care. This world's rules are different to earths, so yeah… They're all aliens. There is no need for me to compare their physical features with earthly humans to know if it's a guy or girl. As long as their looks are to my preference, and as long as they are friendly, I have no reason to ponder about their sexuality. A hole is a goal, remember? Cough Cough, not mine though… Hehe.

"Ahh!" What the f*ck! Why did she remove the sword without giving me a warning? Is she a sadist?! Damn you!

"It's going to be okay." The girl said, after lifting me to the level of her face. She was crouching of course, so I guess I wasn't too high off the ground.

"Here. Eat this." She continued to say, and held a pill in front of my mouth right after, waiting for me to accept it. This is a cultivation world, so I was sure that the pill had to be some type of instant recovery pill. Unless she was planning to assassinate me… Maybe that's why she stabbed me in the first place, acting as if it was all an accident. I should ask who she is…

"Stop right there. Who are you?"

"She's also an elder. The most talented in this sect, but not in the arts of battle. Alchemy and technology. She is proficient in both of them, which is a very rare talent that many can not achieve. The youngest elder amongst us all, because professions like hers are rare and a necessity." The elder who has the profession of a guide to recruits, was the one to give me a satisfying answer. Satisfying, because I received a very important part of information about the person in front of my eyes, and especially because I now know that the person in front of me is a lady. Oh my, oh my… I grinned inside my mind after a flash of interesting thoughts.

"I see… Then…" I uttered in understanding, and not even before a second after uttering my words, I looked straight towards the girl her sparkling purple eyes. "Sorry miss, I can't accept such a pill directly from you. It is too much of an honor for me to accept your gift." I said to the girl in front of me, hoping for the best.

"Heh?" The girl was surprised by my courtesy and lovely words, as she had never been treated that way. Usually, she was simply seen as some type of merchant by many disciples. It was surely a big surprise to her, and for some reason, she could even feel her heart flutter, which she doesn't know the reason why.

"No no no. It's not a gift, it's my apology for injuring you with my failed experiment. Now take it, before you lose more blood." The girl was flustered, and had even dropped me because she had to use her hands to express herself.

"Actually, I have a better suggestion." I told her as I turned my body to lie on my back. "Why don't you teach me how to make the pill, so I can heal myself in the future whenever you injure me again? Why don't we work together instead, so we can help each other out? You teach me your ways to compensate me for injuring me, and one day, we can work on many projects together. That's right. I'll share your burdens…" I told her in the most charming way I could, and didn't even give her a chance to talk while I was saying those cringe but romantic words. Hehehe…

"You… You want to become my disciple?" She took a bit long to reply, as she was even more surprised that someone wanted to become her disciple, much less work together with her. Not many were willing to break their minds after all, and some of them didn't even have the intelligence and talent whenever she looked for someone to help her. Hence why, with such a thing being a fact, she quickly asked the elders before she became too hopeful and expectant, if I had a good ranking.

"Yes he does. He is a top recruit, and has a prodigy's talent. I'm not sure about his smarts however." It was the same informative elder that replied to the girl's question about me. With his reply stating that I was qualified to be a potential disciple of hers, her face began to glow due to her hopeful thoughts.

Since one of the girl's question had been answered, I decided to answer the question that she decided to ask me, in a way to make her look more beautiful with her bright looks.

"Yes and no." I suddenly replied when the girl was still stuck in her thoughts. "I don't want to become your disciple, because I want to become your partner. Sadly, I must become your student first, don't I?" I continued my words, skillfully.

Upon the moment that I had mentioned that I didn't want to become her disciple, her face darkened immediately. However, like a light in the dark, her expression turned even brighter than before upon my next words. She was happy, she was elated, and she was ready to take me away with her already.

"Here, just take the pill." She said to me a few seconds later, and brought the pill close to my mouth again. "I don't want to be teaching an injured student of mine, so be healthy." She continued to tell me with a cheerful smile, and honestly, I think it was love at first sight when I looked at that beautiful smile of hers.

"Thank you, ma-"

"Just call me miss Leilei. You're just a temporary assistant and student of mine, aren't you? Promise you'll be my partner, right?"

"It would be lovely to be your partner... So, of course, I promise."
