Edward's lips curved into a bitter smile and the images of the incident that happened in the basement flashed in his mind as if it happened a few hours a go.

" l know you don't feel the love sparks, it's okay. I already accepted my fate and l won't push you any further." 

Edward heaved a frustrated sigh, it was like someone was squeezing his heart into a ball.

Sam's eyes welled up when she recalled how rude she behaved when they were arguing. She hurt his ego and that made her more guilty.

" Edward I'm sorry for being rude, l just....." She was about to explain it when Edward planted a soft butterfly kiss on her forehead.

" l know you wanted to protect Diana and l, although it was painful when l learned that it was one-sided love, l couldn't run away and leave you."

Sam bit her lower lip to cage the sobs, she was happy Edward got where she was coming from, soft sobs escaped from her lips and occupied the once quiet rooftop.
