Chapter 7

~Vanessa~

"I don't know why? Maybe because I am scared of what's to come," I said.

"I will accept that only this time," he said.

"What do we do now that we are here," I ask him.

"Well, I have informed my parents that I have found you then we will find out what to do next," he said while I just nodded.

"We have to go back to the ballroom."

"Okay," I said to move out the silence,

I started walking first and I saw my friends standing next to the door. I went with them and gave them a hug. I pull them into the ballroom without giving a glimpse to Eric. Once we were there they started talking and questioning me. There was an announcer say that the royal family has arrived and the doors began to open by the guards and the past king and queen are there too.

"We are here to announce that our son has found his mate. That is why we held this ball to his mate. Now let's welcome our king, King Eric," the queen said with a powerful voice.

When Eric walked inside everyone had bowed their heads to show respect. I was the only one that didn't bow. It looked that he was looking for someone until it landed on me and smiled.

"Rise. Thank you for all coming and it did seem to come true I have found my mate and your queen." He said in his alpha king voice. Some people cheered while some females didn't look happy.

After him talking some more he had stopped and was talking to his parents.

Once I was finished with my speech I let them do their things before arriving here. When the people are busy, I start looking for my mate in the crowd and I saw her standing with two boys one older and one younger and a female who I believe is her mother and another man which I believe is her father. Once everything was finished the had music started to play. I walked down the staircase to go to my mate. I was walking towards her and people were bowing to me while I was passing. Once I stopped behind my mate, she stopped talking to the people around her.

"Hi, Vanessa." She turns around to face me but her eyes don't meet me.

"Um Hi, nice to see you Ki-. I mean Eric." I heard a few gasps around me. Maybe because they thought she was disrespecting their king.

"Well nice to see you again." I look up from her to see her parents.

"You must be her parents, nice to meet you both."

"Yes, we are I am Bella and this is my husband Ivan. We also have two sons Daniel and Henry. Nice to meet you, Ki-"

"You can call me Eric, we are now family aren't we not. Well if I may steal my mate from you guys I will see you around." I heard some goodbyes and see you later, while I am taking my mate with me.

We were walking away from my family and into the crowd. We went to the center and started dancing a slow dance. I wanted to ask him a question but I didn't have the courage to say it but then I had to say it to let him know.

"What am I going to do when this is over," I looked around and not staring at his eyes.

"What do you want to do I don't want to pressure you into doing something you are not comfortable."

"Well, I was wondering if I could stay at my parent's house, like for a week or so."

"Only a week I think I will survive without you for only a week."

"Okay, I will talk about it with my parents to tell them know the situation."

I didn't realize that people were staring at us while we were dancing. Once the music was finished I pulled Eric towards me. We were almost near my parents and stopped to face him.

"Well, I'm going to talk with my parents about the situation that we talked about," I said.

I hug him and walk away from him. While I was walking away from him I hit my forehead for being dumb. I had reached the spot where my parents were at and I told them about the conversation that Eric and I had.

"So what do you guys think about it do you think it's alright," I said. "Well if you need time then do what you think is right," my Dad told me, while I looked at my Mom but gave me a small smile. "I will stay with you guys for a week."

Once I said that I gave hugs to my parents and went outside. I went outside to clear my mind because there are so many things on my mind and things kept on pilling up. I was so spaced out that I didn't realize that my brother was behind me.

"What are you doing outside," Daniel said scaring me a little. "I don't know, there are many things on my mind and I don't know what to do." "What do you think is right." "I already told parents that I'm going to stay home for one more week and that is it then I decided to come here I guess." 

"You do know you are going to have to tell him about you and things you do," he said while I took a deep breath, and nodded. "Well I will see you later so you could think about what is happening," he said and gave me a hug and I said a small thank you and see you later.

About a few minutes that have passed I took off my shoes and walked through the woods because I like the feeling of the grass on my feel. I also saw a small river and went to it.

I sat on the grass while my feet were in the water. For some reason, I felt that someone was staring at me but I ignored it and continue playing with the water. I heard something moving around the bushes and that is what caught my attention and I stood up to see what it was and from the scent, it wasn't good. I had stayed calm to make sure that nothing bad was happening and realized that someone was behind me.
