Chapter 48 – Osaka City Fun

Hoshi's POV

Later after that, I returned the books to their bookshelves, and Kuro returned within me. Then, I left the family library and went to the courtyard of the main house to get some fresh air. There I sat down on the floor, and the wind blew against me and my travel clothes mildly. As I embraced it, my mind said to me, "This is so peaceful…"

And then, I heard a voice saying, "Hey, Hoshi-kun…"

So, I turned around, only to see that it was Saki who said that.

"Oh, hey there, what's up?" I asked her. "Did you and the others had finished unpacking?"

"Yes, we did," Saki answered back, "so you want to go out to explore the city? Let's go together with the others."

"Oh, sure, why not. That'll be fun!"

And so, by 3:45 p.m., we and our friends went out to explore Osaka city. Paulo, Reo, and Mariya also wants to come with us, so we allowed that. Sha was the most curious one because he said that he never got to explore outside of Nara city. As we walk around the huge city on foot, we were excited and willing to try out new places. Our first stop is the famous Osaka Castle, which is near the closest station, Tanimachi Yonchome Station, which is along the Tanimachi and Chuo subway lines. There we entered the place through the Otemon Gate at the park's southwestern corner. The place is amazing, and Taro, who had been there before, explains to us about its few centuries of history. We were listening to him attentively, and we felt that his explanation is way better than walls of text in traditional textbooks. So, we took pictures of the beautiful castle at a good, but safe distance.

After that, at 4:11 p.m., we trekked all the way south to a place called Shitennoji Temple, which was one of Japan's oldest temples. There it was amazing even though it had been rebuilt and reconstructed many times in history, it still remained as one of the most amazing places in Japan. That place was a good one for photos, so we took pictures of it for memory archiving. Also, Kuro likes it more than the Osaka Castle for unknown reasons. Although I asked him why, he doesn't want to let me know the reasons. Well, respects for him.

Later, at 4:54 p.m., we proceeded further south to Sumiyoshi Taisha, one of Japan's oldest shrines. There Taro explained to us that it was the head shrine of all Sumiyoshi Shrines in Japan. We were amazed, but Kuro seems to know that place before, as explained by his suspicious behavior. So, I asked him if he knows that place before. He said yes, but he didn't tell me why and how. Oh well, no pressuring questions for him, again.

Kuro's POV

[in secret]

This place…felt so much nostalgic for me. But why? Is my past life is catching up with me? In truth, I don't remember much of my past life as a warrior from the Nara period since my death in the year 793. Yeah, this place hits me like a truck. But, I don't want to tell this to Hoshi for personal reasons either.
