chapter 5: Babysitter

'Kakashi!!?!!'

[Kakashi Hatake]

A youngster from the hidden leaf village, Kakashi Hatake is a prodigy. He's well-known for his impressive abilities and his successful career as a member of Anbu. He was a member of team 7 led by Minato Namikaze, but during one of his missions, one of his teammates reportedly died. Furthermore, he also accidentally killed his other teammate, successfully earning him the nickname "Friend-Killer Kakashi". He used to be a very stern and serious ninja, but now he has a more carefree and laid-back personality. Both his parents are dead, but he is close with Minato Namikaze and Kurosora Senju.

We kind of just stared at each other until my mother broke off the staring contest and started talking.

Ochra (mother):" I see ℸ ̣ ⍑ᔑℸ ̣ ||𝙹⚍ guys are ᔑꖎꖎ ∷ᒷᔑ↸|| getting ᔑꖎ𝙹リ⊣ !¡ᒷ∷⎓ᒷᓵℸ. ꖎ||. What do you ℸ ̣ ⍑╎リꖌ Kakashi? ╎ᓭリ'ℸ. He is super cute!"

Kakashi:" ╎ᓭリ'ℸ ̣ it ∴ᒷ╎∷↸ that a 2 months old newborn ∴ᔑᓭ trying to ∷ᒷᔑ↸ a ʖ𝙹𝙹ꖌ?"

Ochra (mother):" He's ⋮⚍ᓭℸ ̣ a ⍊ᒷ∷|| fast learner."

She grabbed me off the sofa, held me in her arms, and started walking to the door, while talking to Kakashi. I was honestly just baffled by the fact that I was looking at a real-life teen Kakashi.

Yuki:' He doesn't look any different from the anime. He has great skincare.'

We suddenly stopped, and I realized that we were at the door.

Ochra (mother):" !¡ꖎᒷᔑᓭᒷ take good ᓵᔑ∷ᒷ of him."

Kakashi:" Don't ∴𝙹∷∷|| I'll ℸ ̣ ᔑꖌᒷ good ᓵᔑ∷ᒷ

She then looked at me, pinched my cheeks and said.

Ochra (mother):" My ᓵ⚍ℸ ̣ ᒷ ꖎ╎ℸ ̣ ℸ ̣ ꖎᒷ baby, are you going to ᒲ╎ᓭᓭ me? Don't ∴𝙹∷∷|| 𝙹ꖌᔑ||. Kakashi here will !¡∷𝙹ℸ ̣ ᒷᓵℸ ̣ you."

She handed me over to Kakashi and walked out the door, but before leaving, she said.

Ochra (mother):" Mommy will be ʖᔑᓵꖌ okay. Kakashi, ↸𝙹リ'ℸ ̣ ⎓𝙹∷⊣ᒷℸ ̣ to do ᒷ⍊ᒷ∷||ℸ ̣ ⍑╎リ⊣ I asked you to do 𝙹ꖌᔑ|| and ↸𝙹リ'ℸ ̣ do ᔑリ||ℸ ̣ ⍑╎リ⊣ ᓭℸ ̣ ⚍!¡╎↸. ᔑꖎᓭ𝙹 ↸𝙹リ'ℸ ̣ ⎓𝙹∷⊣ᒷℸ ̣ to..."

Kakashi ended up closing the door on her.

He walked us back to the sofa, put me down, and just stared at me.

Yuki:' He has no idea what he's doing. This is probably his first time babysitting.'

_Kakashi's POV_

Kakashi:' I don't know what I'm supposed to do. What do babies even like?'

I just kept staring at him.

'Should I try making him laugh?'

I tried making him laugh by smiling at him and making funny faces, but he just looked at me with a confused face.

'Huh, what's wrong? Was it not funny?'

I scratched my chin out of confusion, but then I realized what the problem was. My mask was still on.

'Oh, so that's why he wasn't laughing.'

I looked left and right, to see if someone was there. I didn't want Guy to pop up out of nowhere. When I realized that the coast was clear, I dropped my mask and smiled at him.

'Oh damn'

Instead of laughing, he had an expression of pure shock.

_Yuki's POV_

'HOLY SHI-SHINIGAMI!! HE JUST PULLED DOWN HIS MASK!?! OH, DAMN! Why would he pull down his mask? I guess I'm still a baby, so it wouldn't really matter, since normal babies wouldn't remember this. Wow! This is amazing, I just got a limited edition face reveal!'

After the initial shock disappeared, a wide smile appeared on my face.

Kakashi:" Ah yes, ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷ∷ᒷ you go. I knew I could ᒲᔑꖌᒷ ||𝙹⚍ smile!" He smiled and ruffled my hair.

Kakashi:" So what do you ∴ᔑリℸ ̣ to do? Do you ∴ᔑリℸ ̣ me to ∷ᒷᔑ↸ you ask book, do you ∴ᔑリℸ ̣ to !¡ꖎᔑ|| a ⊣ᔑᒲᒷ?" There was a long silence after that.

Yuki:' Did he ask me what I want to do? I can't talk yet.'

Kakashi:" ᔑ⍑ ∴ᔑ╎ℸ ̣, you can't ᒷ⍊ᒷリ ℸ ̣ ᔑꖎꖌ yet. You !¡∷𝙹ʖᔑʖꖎ|| don't ᒷ⍊ᒷリ ⚍リ↸ᒷ∷ᓭℸ ̣ ᔑリ↸ me."

Slightly understanding what he was trying to say, I pointed at the book next to me.

Kakashi:" You ∴ᔑリℸ ̣ me to ∷ᒷᔑ↸ you a ʖ𝙹𝙹ꖌ? 𝙹ꖌᔑ|| ℸ ̣ ⍑ᔑℸ ̣ 's nice, you ꖌリ𝙹∴ ∴⍑ᔑℸ ̣ they say knowledge is !¡𝙹∴ᒷ∷."

He sat down next to me, picked up the book, and started reading aloud.

Yuki:' He's sitting too far away from me, I can't read the words.'

I tried crawling closer, but my weak body wasn't strong enough.

Kakashi:" You ∴ᔑリℸ ̣ to sit リᒷ ̇/ℸ ̣ to me?" I nodded.

He scooted over to me, so that we were now sitting side by side.

Yuki:'' This isn't enough!'

I mustered up all the strength in my body and crawled up his leg.

Once I was finally properly seated, he continued reading out loud, while I was listening and trying to figure out the words for myself.

Time flew by, and my mom returned.

By that time, I had already fallen asleep, and Kakashi was reading the book by himself.

_3rd POV_

Kakashi was silently reading the book, when the door opened.

Ochra:" I can see that you're enjoying yourself."

Kakashi:"Ah, yes, he asked me to read him a book, so I took this one."

Ochra:" I see, the way of the ninja. It's his favorite book."

Kakashi:" I understand him, it's actually pretty good. I never thought that Kiku would end up being the Black Shiv."

Ochra:" EYYOO WOOOW!! SPOILERS!!"

Kakashi: "OH SORRY, I thought you already knew that?!"

Ochra:" Hahaha, I'm just playing with you. I read that book nine times."

Kakashi let out a sigh of relief.

Ochra:" But seriously, though, thank you for agreeing to babysit Yuki for us. We really appreciate it."

Kakashi:" You shouldn't thank me. Minato gave me the mission to babysit Yuki for a few months. So if you want to thank someone, thank him."

They kept talking for a few minutes until Kakashi decided that it was time to leave.

After Kakashi left, Yuki got put into his cradle, and Ochra went to bed.

This cycle went on for months. Kurosora and Ochra went to work, and Kakashi babysat Yuki until one of them returned.

Of course, Yuki kept training. He trained his body and all the skills that he could train. He even increased his reputation with everyone around him.

He also tried to discover new skills and tricks, including stuff that had to do with chakra.

Everything was steadily improving, he was even discovering new skills like:

Everything was going smoothly except for one minor issue: his chakra and all chakra-related things.

Even though he always kept trying, the only thing that happened was that he felt something and tried to get a hold of that something, but it always ended up disappearing before he could even get a hold of it.

After lots of tries, he ended up asking Sebastian for advice.

Sebastian: "Oh, it actually makes quite a lot of sense. The reason you can't use chakra is that your tenketsu aren't opened. Tenketsu are the nodes that enable you to use and release chakra. Tenketsu starts naturally opening when you're around 1–2 years old and are all fully opened when you're around 5 years old."

Yuki:' And you couldn't have told me this sooner?'

Sebastian:" You never asked."

Yuki:' So all my efforts were for nothing?'

Sebastian:" No, not necessarily. There were some cases in which children were able to naturally start opening their tenketsu at 7 or even fewer months old. Some are even born with all their tenketsu already opened. Like Ashura Ōtsutsuki and Indra Ōtsutsuki. Because you have already started experimenting with chakra, you'll probably open your tenketsu points relatively quickly."

Yuki:' I guess that means that I just have to keep on training.'

Yuki kept on training and leveling up everything that he could. Time started passing by quickly until the fated day was finally there.
