Chapter 53

...she went to knock on the bathroom door. She was about to knock but then decided that she was just going to open it anyways. Nathan looked surprised when she got in. Luckily, he had put his phone away and was brushing his teeth. He watched her and then saw that she was holding the envelope he left on the table. He just spat out the content in his mouth in the sink and said, "I see you found our little devil's lettuce."

Juliette realized what he meant and then laughed and said, "I should have known. So, do you mind if I just start without you?"

Nathan looked surprised at her question so he asked, "Have you ever rolled one of these before?"

"Is it unrolled?"

"Yeah, but everything you need to roll it is in there."

"Cool. Well, I guess I'm gonna have to wait for you to come out."

Juliette looked around the bathroom to see how the walk-in shower looked and she liked it so she said, "I'd love to. Give me a sec to take off my shit, I'll be back. Is the water warm? I can't do a cold shower."

"I don't really like hot water so I don't pay for the heater."

Juliette looked very shocked. She wondered how she had never noticed that he didn't have a heater. Then she remembered that she had never showered at his place before. She shrugged and just walked away. As she was leaving, she said, "Don't stay too long."

Back in the bedroom, Juliette sat on the bed again and then checked her phone. She saw the missed calls from Leighton again and then decided to call her. The phone rang twice before Leighton answered.

"Hey Leigh, what's good? Sorry I missed your calls again."

"It's okay, Skye and Matt told me that you went to your man's place."

"That's how Matt said it?"

"He said you went out but you were not coming back tonight, but Skye told me you went on a date. I put two and two together."

"Well, yeah, I decided to come get a little loving tonight. I think I deserve it."

"So, what was up with you though? Why did you call me over and over?"

Nathan brought the joint he had rolled to Juliette. He also brought a lighter and helped her get it lit. Then he watched her take her first slow drag. It certainly did not look like she had never done it before.

Then Juliette turned her attention fully to Nathan and then she stood up and began to slowly undress. Nathan did not notice at first because he was playing Candy crush on his phone but after she stopped talking, he looked up and she was in a thong. He watched her as she proceeded to pour herself another cup of wine and then sat at the edge of the bed, crossed one of her leg over the other and drag the rolled joint a little more and blowing off the extra smoke like she was used to it.

He turned around and just nodded, then he turned back and went into his own room.

Once inside, he tried to get out of his clothes and into a black joggers trouser and a t-shirt and a pair of his favorite socks, he went under his duvet and tried to got to bed. He tried not to think of what Juliette could be doing at this exact time. He shook the image out of his head and tried to close his eyes and finally sleep.
