It was late in the afternoon when Lena left the office, her first day a whirlwind of new tasks, faces, and expectations. She felt a little overwhelmed but proud, her heart light with excitement about the new job in her life. Samantha had still some work left to do, so Lena was on her own, walking down the busy city street to resturant for lunch. Samantha would join her later.

Across the street, Mark and Ryan stood leaning against a black car, hidden in plain sight. They had been following Lena since she left the office, waiting for the perfect moment.

"There she is," Ryan murmured, his voice low as he watched Lena from the corner of his eye. "No one's around, and the crowd's thinning out. This is the moment."
