True Friends

Jody hadn't spoken since Zev confessed his feelings to her. She didn't talk to him either. That's why he teased Jody while they were in class. He turned to the girl and spoke to her.

"Didn't you even react to what I said?" Zev asked.

"What do you want me to say?" asked Jody, not looking at the man. She was whispering so their professor wouldn't notice them.

"No matter what, at least react," said Zev.

"Can't we just talk about it later, after class?" Jody glanced slightly at Zev and returned her gaze to their professor.

Jody didn't understand why Zev was teasing her about something that could be discussed after class.

"Is it because you can't love me because you want to, Brian?" said Zev.

"Zev, what the hell? You'll be angry later. The professor will see what you're doing."

"Say it because Brian is the one you like, and Brian is the one you love."

"I like you, Zev; you are the one I love. Are you okay now? Are you happy?"
