Chapter 129: The Incident

Jody lost consciousness after vomiting blood, which prompted Zev to leap to his feet and catch Jody, who had almost fallen from her seat. The librarian glanced at them as the chair collapsed and made a noise, and she was shocked to find blood on the floor.

"What happened?"

Zev looked at the woman. "She passed out."

"I'll call an ambulance."

"There no need." Zev promptly took up Jody. "I'll simply take her home." My friends will get our bags later."

Zev began to walk out of the library. After some time, he came to the parking lot and instantly opened the vehicle door. He would close the door after gently placing Jody in the car when she grasped his hand.

"L-love.." Jody spoke gently.

Zev instantly knelt and placed his ear near Jody's lips. "The food..."

"I'll take care of everything and make the culprit pay. I'll call the Chief."
