Chapter 48: Sharing Bodies And Hearts And Stuff

Luna sensed my doubt.

“AJ. Come here. Look at me.” She said. Then she repeated, “Look at me,” after I still had tried not to.

“You can do this, AJ. You did it before, and you can do it again. I know you can.”

I felt her as she said it. I felt her belief bleeding through, I felt it down in my core.

But most importantly, it helped me to feel my Maxx. It wasn’t so long ago that he had said those exact words to me. Hearing them repeated now sent me back to that moment. It filled me with a certain belief of my own.

I had done it once before. I would do it again.

“Atta boy,” Luna said, with about the broadest smile I’d ever seen. She stepped back to give me space to rise within her domain, which I did. Space worked differently here. So I stood tall and firm. In fact, without a body to hold me back, I might have grown bigger than ever before.
