CORNI'S POV
“Corni,” I opened my eyes and stared at her. She looked worried. “Are you okay?” I just stared at her, at her clear, expressive eyes.
She didn't look like she'd cried in her life. Her eyes were just too white. I felt her small human hands stroke my fur.
“It's alright, everything will be fine. You don't need to say a word.” And she gave me that beautiful smile, and I almost thought my heart would jump out of my skin.
She repositioned herself so that she could cuddle me better, all the while, my head was pressed against her chest, and I buried deeper into it, my eyes closing as her caress and the softness of her breasts led me to sleep.
Before I woke up, my ears wiggled around, listening for things, but all I heard were nightwalkers announcing their presence. An owl was even hooting nearby. My eyes opened slightly, and even in the darkness, I could see. I looked around and realised that we'd fallen asleep outside.
