Chapter 72
The high pitched scream that was heard a minute ago, broke down into loud sobs. Plutonic rushed inside to find Aisha engulfed in an embrace by Hamlin while she cried and hit his chest. He didn't budge but instead held her tighter.
The worry lines that etched deep on Hamlin's forehead plus the stench of sadness was what had him curious of what was going on.
For a minute, Plutonic thought that perhaps Rufus was dead because of the sadness on their faces but that was not the case. The strongest emotion in the atmosphere was worry! One couldn't be worried by a dead person because they were already gone but instead, one would be dejected beyond words.
He didn't know how to question them. A part of him was afraid that they wouldn't talk to him because of their argument earlier.
Akaya emerged from behind him, standing beside him in the room as she took in the sight of the worried couple.
