Hexiles

I later awoke in a dimly lit room, the first thing I did was thank god for being alive the next was to search for an exit. As I forced the door open and ran down a long corridor I passed in front of a mirror, and that is when I noticed a white as snow choker with what seemed like a piece of ice in the center was around my neck. It looks nice enough but not really my style, little did I know that the accursed thing was impossible to remove on my own. "A dog collar what am I a pet?!" My outburst attracted some guards, whom I tried to out run knowing that getting out side was my only way to have the advantage. As I reached the door at the end of the hall I could smell fresh air coming in, I ran towards the breeze and into the arms of the dark haired guy from before.

He made a grab for me so I planted my fist in his stomach, warning don't ever try that with a vampire if they are expecting a fight, luckily for me I caught him totally off guard. As he doubled over in pain and I stood over him I questioned him, "where are we and how do I get out of here?" the guards that were following me seemed to have run off since they witnessed my victory. He did not answer; he wasn't even looking at me but behind me and smirking. The feel of extreme power fazed me for a while but relief soon followed, for it was no way near the level of the blonde guy's…Alec's unbeatable power, this one I could beat. I drew my sword of flames, surprisingly it was a woman.

"What is the meaning of this?"

"The boss's new toy got loose," he said while getting to his feet.

"That does not explain why you were on the floor." The woman seemed as if she came from Russian ancestry even her blonde hair looked like it was spun from the rays of the moon, considering my own hair as black as night I truly was envious; you know what they say 'blondes have more fun'.

"She's tougher than she looks, she is VX 12 after all," he said massaging the back of his neck.

I could feel the rage emanating from the blonde haired girl as she glared at me. "You killed my brother." Yes it was always someone's brother, sister, boyfriend or wife everyone always seemed to belong to someone ... everyone except me.

I looked her in the eyes, "don't interfere with me or you will join your brother," I know my frankness is a curse but it could not be helped at that moment, when you grow up with Reapers you tend to pick up their habits. Her attacks could be easily red, I guess when blinded by rage one's power does decrease. This would explain how I was easily defeated by tall, blonde and dangerous when I was blinded by fear. A swift kick to the midsection and then another to the side of the head and she was down for the count.

"Now where were we, oh yes you were about to show me the way out of here," I walked towards him slowly as if to seem I was stalking my prey. I found that vampires being predators hated to think themselves week and treating them like prey got you what you wanted much quicker than negotiating with them. 'Yes fear me, be afraid and follow my every order.' The sudden chocking feeling stopped my next step and within seconds I was down on one knee gasping for air, and that was when I felt his presence. The feel of his cold fingers at the back of my neck stopped the chocking feeling.

"Leave us," was all he said as he grabbed my arm, pulling me to my feet.

"Where…am…I?" I asked between gasps for breath.

"Your new home,"

'What the hell kind of crack have you been smoking?' Is what I would have liked to have shouted but. I settled for something more subtle, "sorry but I must refuse your generous offer of residency for I need to return to Haven immediately," I said calmly and without emotion after I had caught my breath.

"Not yet," was his response after staring me down for what felt like an eternity, the feel of his cold fingers on my cheek felt both comforting and distasteful. Baffled I stared up at him, I was about to ask what… I don't really know what I wanted to ask any way the shrill ringing of my communicator interrupted us.

"VX 12, where have you been," from the communicator came my boss's angry voice.

"Why do you need to know? Was it not you who got me in trouble in the first place?" I asked stepping away from him, for all the good it did me; he somehow managed to grab my waist from behind.

"The Hexiles are on the move again." The Hexiles are an extremist group who believe all vampires are the devils of fairy tales and should be exterminated; the thing is they only attack the week and peaceful vampire groups.

"Where…?" I said ignoring the vampire looking over my shoulder.
