( Haru Pov )

The next morning...

" Laters Gramps." I spoke as I left for school.

" Sure, sure, see you later, kid." Gramps waved me off.

Half an hour later, I entered my classroom and sat at the back of the class.

" Okay, everyone, today we'll be doing additions!" The teacher hot everyone's attention as she started writing on the board.

" Now 3 plus 7... does anyone know the answer?" The teacher looked at the students before setting her eyes on me.

' Sigh...' I sighed, knowing she'll pick me.

With her cheerful smile, she pointed at me.

" Haru! Do you know what's 3 plus 7?" She asked.

" Ten." I replied bored of this lesson already.

" That's right!" She clapped before putting a piece of candy on my desk.

It seemed to motivate the other kids to speak when the teacher walked back into the board.

' At least I got something out of this.' I thought as I ate the candy.

" Munch munch"

" Now everyone, it's time for a math test!" She announced, making the little children groan.

It was just additions.

' Not really a challenge but sure.' I thought as I easily finished the test.

" So fast!?" Even the teacher was surprised as she took the test from my hand.

I rest my head on my arms and close my eyes.

Hours passed as the teacher taught other subjects and tested us.

Today, I managed to get 35 Sp as I walked home.

I arrived home and opened the door to see the old man sleeping on the couch from watching TV.

I sighed and went to my room and did my homework to get it over with.

I easily finished and started looking at my system again.

' So it's like my mental strength.' I nodded as I looked at the store again.

' Let's see...'

I looked at the items tab.

There were charms, blueprints, and an orb that regenerated mana.

There were also common items like a pen or glasses.

' Yeahh, I'm not buying those.' I thought as I canceled the panel.

' Now, what should I do?' I thought myself as I looked around the room and spotted a book.

' Books...that's right! From other novels, I could learn skills from books!'

' But still, I had held other books before. Does it even work? Or does it only apply to certain books?' I tapped my chin before trying to find any kind of books in the building.

There was a shelf of books in the house as I walked towards it and took any books I could reach except the one at the top.

' Sigh, nothing. And I can't reach the rest.' I frowned as I looked at the books that were higher than I could reach.

I could only stare and choose to walk away to find any books, but nothing.

I sighed as I climbed onto the couch and sat next to Gramps, who was asleep.

I watched TV for a while and noticed the main characters playing with paper airplanes.

" Hmm..." I looked at the newspaper on the table before grabbing it and started making an airplane.

I gently tossed the airplane into the air.

' Wind Gust.' I pointed my palm at the airplane as a light gust of wind gently pushed it further.

I watched as the paper airplane flew before landing to the ground.

I continued to do this over and over again, observing the way the wind carries the airplane through the air.

I did this until I ran out of mana.

[ Ding Mana exhaustion is in effect]

" Ugh." I groaned as I felt my entire body devoid of energy.

I sat on the floor before laying in the ground.

' Imma get some... sleep.'

( Gran Torino Pov )

" Groan." I groaned awake as I noticed I slept with the Tv on.

Grumble!

I held my stomach, feeling hungry.

" I should make some taiyaki." I muttered as I got off the couch and spot Haru on the floor sleeping.

I frowned as I observed the kid before relaxing.

" Brat must've overused his quirk." I shook my head as I stepped on him, which didn't awaken him.

" Yawn~!" I yawned over my hand as I got my taiyaki from the refrigerator and put it inside the microwave.

" Hmm~hm~hmm~" I tapped the counter, watching my spin in the microwave.

Ding!

" ohoho!!" I laughed as I took out the taiyaki on a plate and brought it to the table.

I was about to eat when I noticed Harus arm grabbing a piece of Taiyaki with a tired expression.

He quickly ate it as I stared at him as he walked to the couch and slept.

' I'll remember this brat.'

( Yuto Pov )

" Wha–what time is it?" I rubbed my eyes as I looked out the window to notice it was dark outside.

" Ugh, damn it." I stood, got off the couch, and dragged myself to my room.

The next day...

After school, I began to work on my wind element.

I would gently push the airplane, then run to the other side and gently push the airplane towards another direction.

Gramps watched from the side observing me.

Then, before I could rest, Gramps trained me again.

This time, it was flexibility as I had to hold my leg up by a rope.

I groaned in pain as I held my thigh that was hung up.

" I.. I think I'm gonna die." I groaned but was soon hit by the old man's cane.

Thwack!

" Ah!" I shouted in pain.

" Stop complaining, brat!" Gramps shouted as he continued to hit me with a cane.

" Keep your leg straight!"

" Gaahh!"
