The fireball did not shoot out at a particularly fast pace, but since how fast it traveled didn't matter too much, I wasn't all that concerned.
However when it started slowing down and exploded.

In other words, if the attack failed, like what seemed to be happening right now, then this situation was almost as bad as it could be.
