Chapter 30: Out of the Loop
The rest of the dinner that evening was wonderful. After Dylan had admitted that something was holding him back from being honest about his position as CEO, Zoe’s dad left the situation alone. Her dad could be quite forthright, but he also knew when to leave things well enough alone.
At one point in the evening, Dylan had taken her father aside to talk. Zoe had wondered the last few days if Dylan had taken him aside to discuss what was holding him back. Perhaps he didn’t want Zoe knowing without her father giving him the okay. Either way, since that evening, Zoe had tried to question him about his past and he remained quiet. When she brought it up, he would turn the topic down, and she didn’t push.
