Chapter 22: A Trip Down Memory Lane
“Moving to Manitoba put things in perspective for me Zoe. I realized what life would be like without you in it. I could not handle the reality. I changed my phone number, deleted all my old contacts, put my job on hold, and left my mother to come down here and marry you,” Kyle said honestly, taking a sip of his mug of hot chocolate.
As soon as they both had stepped out of her parent’s house, he called a cab to take them to a nearby coffee shop – the Coffee Mill for coffee cocoa. Kyle always knew the best places to go because he made it a habit to go out and try new restaurants frequently.
As she watched him sip his drink, all she could think about was their past. So many times he had apologized, begged for forgiveness, and promised to change. So many times she put her faith in him only to have it broken.
This was exactly why she had stayed away from Dylan after finding out he had lied to her. There was too much history with lies and deceit.
