Mewtwo's Wrath! The Legendary Battle

A shining pair of eyes locked at Mewtwo while a deep roar resounded through the island. As the eyes rose up, I realized why the island was devoid of any Pokemon, as we saw the inhabitant of the island rising up from the sea.

.

.

A LUGIA

.

.

Lugia gave a second roar while locking eyes with Mewtwo, who glared back into Lugia's eyes. Luga rose up in the air and looked down on Mewtwo.

Mewtwo had inherited Pikachu's pride and the act of Lugia, looking down towards him infuriated Mewtwo. He gave a heaven shattering roar, which stopped the battle between Pikachu and Raikou and changed the weather to the extreme, with very high-speed tornadoes dropping from the sky.

Ash-"Calm Down! MEWTWO!"

Pikachu was able to discern the abnormality in Mewtwo's behavior and very smartly connected it to Lugia.

While I was about to call out to Mewtwo again, Pikachu stopped me.

"Give Command!"

That was the thought I could discern from Pikachu.

A-"Meteor"

Mewtwo got covered with a golden glow and phased out from his position and the next moment, his head struck Lugia and a terrifying shockwave got released from the clash.

Both of them drew back but Mewtwo attacked again without waiting for even a bit and butted heads with Lugia again, who was also adamant in his stance and appeared to be denying any advantage to Mewtwo.

There was one thing that I had discovered about cosmic Pokemon, they aren't weak to any particular type, but also they don't have any particular advantage against any type. That means that cosmic type attacks are equally potent against any kind, and all kinds of attacks are equally potent against cosmic type. But, on the same level, cosmic type moves are definitely stronger than all others. On the downside, training cosmic moves require more time.

Thus, from the first exchange, I had inferred that the battle was going to be a battle of attrition, and the first one to fall short of energy would lose.

Regarding stamina, I was confident in Mewtwo, he had been training in the time chamber for a long time and even now, he was fighting with his gravity rings.

A-"Drop rings!"

Mewtwo's rings dropped down as he removed them and then he flashed towards Lugia again, this time faster than before and landed a solid punch onto Lugia's face, who slapped an iron tail onto Mewtwo. Both of them refused to budge and exchanged blows continuously, Mewtwo with his punches and Lugia with his wings and tail.

This exchange was different from the one between Pikachu and Raikou. Pikachu and Raikou exchange blows and compares the power, for example, Raikou would use a headbutt against iron tail and both would hit each other head-on. Mewtwo and Lugia weren't battling to find out who was stronger but to find out who was the loser, their blows determined to hurt the other.

After a few minutes, instead of both of them getting tired, they had gotten deeper into the zone and visible injuries had started sprouting on their bodies.

Now I was a little afraid as I hadn't experienced a battle like this one before but I still kept my faith in Mewtwo.

Lugia fired off a dragon pulse straight onto Mewtwo's face and Mewtwo returned the blow with a meteor fist onto Lugia's head, slamming him onto the ground.

Mewtwo's blows were definitely becoming heavier with every passing minute, but I was afraid of the battle becoming a life and death battle between the two.

After a brawl on the ground, Lugia rose to the skies again, followed by Mewtwo and the two began an exchange of truly powerful moves.

Lugia fired off an array of Hyperbeam.

"Dwarf flare!"

A white solar flare was generated from Mewtwo's hands and fired off onto the hyper beam. The hyper beam got destroyed and the flare went on to strike Lugia, who was visibly annoyed by the attack.

Shaking his head, Lugia fired a charge beam at Mewtwo who attacked it with a discharge blast, neutralizing it. Amidst the smoke generated during the clash of moves, Lugia struck Mewtwo with a powerful steel wings attack, which left Mewtwo injured. Mewtwo got enraged and struck a meteor punch on Lugia's back.

Lugia released a howl and struck a series of shadow balls onto Mewtwo. Mewtwo dodged them all like an ace pilot and I was mesmerized by his flight pattern.

But, in between those shadow balls, Lugia struck again with a very powerful aerial ace which slammed Mewtwo into the sea with a huge splash.

After about 10 seconds, a strong solar flare erupted from inside the sea and struck down Lugia. The solar flare was so powerful that a 10-meter column of steam formed inside the sea and Mewtwo flew up and slammed his fist into the belly of the solar flare struck Lugia.

After the blow, Mewtwo stepped back and looked at Lugia who was appearing enraged upon seeing the condition of the sea.

Lugia attacked Mewtwo like crazy, firing Hyperbeam, followed by charge beam and a thunder wave.

Mewtwo was able to counter the hyper beam and dodge the charge beam but the thunder wave hit him hard and left him in a paralyzed state.

Lugia didn't let go of the chance and attacked using dragon tail, which caused Mewtwo to fly into the air like a ragdoll.

Before I could process the beating, Lugia used telekinesis to raise Mewtwo further into the air and then raised a water tornado from the sea to carry Mewtwo further high where he bombarded the paralyzed Mewtwo with hyper beams and dragon pulse.

I wanted to interfere but Pikachu kept stopping me.

The angry roars of Mewtwo had filled the air and I was desperate to interfere.

Lugia kept on his bullying of Mewtwo, but his attacks had changed now.

I could feel that Lugia wasn't trying to visibly hurt Mewtwo, but to get him down.

However, I didn't think much at that time and even ignored the fact that the Charizard and Blastoise were spectating the battle with great interest.

Pikachu was looking at Mewtwo and Lugia very seriously, and I could feel that he was ready to interfere, but was just holding himself back and waiting for something. Arcanine was also holding back Raikou, and like Pikachu, looked to be waiting for something.

And that something happened when Mewtwo was struck by an aerial ace.

Mewtwo gave a very loud roar and glowed, and grew to the size of a normal Mewtwo. Previously, Mewtwo had been equal to Mew in size, but now it grew to almost the same height as me.

His looks hadn't changed even one bit, but the fury of being bullied was still filling his eyes.

Mewtwo flashed and a loud boom was heard on the island. Lugia had been planted into the soil. Before Lugia could stabilize, Mewtwo flashed to his position and lifted Lugia by the neck and shot upwards like a rocket. This time after reaching a certain height, he dropped Lugia, and just as Lugia was preparing to receive another attack, punched him into the face and made Lugia fly even higher.

Mewtwo fired a solar flare from below and flashed to a position above Lugia and fired a dwarf flare from above. He flashed again and flew around Lugia in a circle, encircling him in a ring of a solar flare from all sides.

Lugia got struck and gave a howl of pain, which was cut short by a pulsar wave blasted into Lugia's back and plummeting him into the sea.

Mewtwo followed him into the sea and appeared a while later, with a shockwave emanating inside water.

It had been the first time in my two lifetimes that I had seen a water shockwave.

Lugia had weakened but Mewtwo was not in any mood to pardon him. Mewtwo carried Lugia the same way he had been carried before and threw Lugia into the air.

Lugia tried to counterattack using thunderbolt, but that attack was destroyed by Mewtwo's meteor punch.

Mewtwo attacked Lugia with a solar storm which gave considerable damage to Lugia.

Lugia was still in the air and Mewtwo used Meteor shower to bombard Lugia, planting him on the ground again.

Before anyone could do anything, Mewtwo fired a supernova onto the island.

There was a very bright flash and even I had to close my eyes. I was now afraid of the fate of Lugia.

"Pikachu! Stop Mewtwo!!"

As the brightness died down, I realized that I was standing on water using aura and the island had disappeared, leaving an unconscious and badly injured Lugia floating on the sea.

Mewtwo was preparing to fire off another meteor shower, but someone attacked him.

.

.

.

The Charizard that Scarlet had entrusted to me.

But before the Charizard could do anything major, he was stopped by Arcanine.

And Pikachu, who had gone Dragonforce mode and flashed to Mewtwo's head and slammed down a breakdown fist on Mewtwo's head.

Mewtwo had been very injured as well and was running on his fury alone. The attack from Pikachu knocked him out for good and Pikachu was able to bring him back to me.

I was curious about the reason for Charizard's attack on Mewtwo, but I decided to worry later and carried Lugia to the submarine myself.

I fed a Senzu bean each to Mewtwo and Lugia. I sent Mewtwo to his Pokeball and did a very sensible thing.

Throw a Pokeball onto the unconscious Lugia to capture it.

.

.

.

.

.

Except that the Pokeball didn't capture Lugia.

Which meant,

,

,

,

This Lugia was someone's Pokemon.

Damn!

My dream to have a Lugia in my team was shattered.

I fed him a senzu bean and waited for his awakening.

As far as I had seen the anime, humans could communicate with Lugia easily and after about half an hour, when he woke up, I tried to use telepathy to talk to Lugia.

And I was surprised,

He was actually a "She" and she had attacked because the island was her domain and she had a young child that she was raising.

And the final shock!

She was a Pokemon of the same trainer as Charizard, Blastoise, and Steelix. She gave a sweet cooing roar and from the depths of the ocean, popped out a small cute Lugia, carrying the same Pokeball as those of the Pokemon that I had received from Scarlet.

Since I could communicate easily with Lugia, I tried asking her about her trainer. She was about to answer me when Blastoise appeared between us and signaled something to Lugia who stopped and told me to find the trainer on my own.

Lugia-"Since you've defeated me, I'll be joining you. I won't be a part of your team but I'll join you like Charizard, Blastoise, and Steelix. You can try asking my kid though!"

Phew!

My dream to have a Lugia in my team is still alive!

The small Lugia was playing with Skyreon and Spookeon and was having a fun time as far as I could tell.

Ash-"Hey little guy! Wanna come with me?"

Lugia tilted his head cutely and looked at me.

Ash-"I can make you as stronger than your mom!"

Just as I said so, he clung onto me and looked at me with sparkling eyes.

YESSSSSSSSSSSS!

I took out a Pokeball and he frantically entered the ball, as if the opportunity to enter the ball would go away if he wasted any time.

Finally, I had 4 legendaries in my team, Mewtwo, Raikou, Naga, and Lugia, the ones that I could use openly.

Bodhi was to be kept a secret until Indigo League.

I was able to get an apology from Lugia after I explained that Pikachu and Raikou were actually doing a practice battle and Mewtwo was infuriated because she attacked Pikachu, who was a close family member for him.

On the mention of the family member, I could feel that the mood of Lugia and the other Pokemon dropped a bit.

It seemed that the relation between the Pokemon of that trainer was also very close.

However, I was able to get some good news from Lugia.

The trainer had a Dragonite and the Dragonite would have a child right then, so if I was able to defeat the Dragonite, I could get a Dratinee for myself.

After the happenings of the island, I decided to go towards the mainland quickly and not play too much in the deep seas.

During the trip, Mewtwo and Lugia had a chance to reintroduce themselves and they were able to resolve their differences, particularly because of the kid Lugia, who became a brother in arms of Mewtwo, owing to his respectful relationship with Pikachu.

Two days later we reached a pier close to Cerulean City. I asked Misty if she wanted to meet her family, but she decided to carry on to our journey.

We started on the route towards the lighthouse as I wanted to see and battle the Dragonite that was visited the lighthouse.

Moving onto that road, we came in front of an unofficial gym with 98 wins in the name of the Gym Leader.

I remembered the episode featuring the Gym Leader A.J. who had his particular training style. At that time I wasn't that convinced of his training methods but later came to recognize his efforts after seeing Paul from Sinnoh.

Seriously, Paul was the worst kind of person to exist.

Anyways, I still wanted to change his ways a little. Not drastically, but a little to achieve better results.

I entered the gym and saw AJ training his Sandshrew with a whip.

Ash-"Your training has a few flaws in it!"

AJ-"What? Who are you? I don't believe my training is wrong!"

Ash-"I didn't say it's wrong. I said it has some flaws in it. Oh, I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town. I'm on my way to collect Gym Badges for the Indigo League."

AJ-"Hou! How many badges do you have?"

Ash-"Two"

AJ-"I don't think a weakling with only two badges is worthy of correcting my training methods."

Before I could say anything, Misty and Brock pounced upon AJ

Misty-"So you think you're better than him, not owning a single badge in your name and speaking so highly of yourself. Ash defeated the most powerful Pokemon of Cerulean City and Pewter City gyms, the Pokemon reserved for trainers with 6 badges only."

Brock-"Even if he hadn't defeated the gyms, he still has some knowledge and you shouldn't look down on anyone like that. The food that you feed to your Pokemon is based entirely on hos researches."

AJ-"WHAT? YOU'RE THE GENIUS FROM PALLET TOWN!"

Ash-"Yeah! I think I am the one you speak of. Anyways, what I was saying was that your training method is good right now, but it doesn't work in the long term."

AJ-"What do you mean?"

Ash-"Your training method is based on fear of punishment to motivate. This works in the beginning but do you think it'll work when your Pokemon get enough strength to defy you? I know your Pokemon love you despite your methods but they'll start skipping your training when they are strong enough. You know, too much fear makes one immune to it."

AJ was wide-eyed at my revelation and from his looks, I could infer that he was giving thought to my facts.

Ash-"I won't say that a failure for punishment is bad, but it'd be better to have an incentive-based approach to training. And also, try to lead by example. For example, I have mock battles with some of my Pokemon and show them that even I train for their growth. It motivates the Pokemon. I won't ask you to copy me entirely, but some changes for the betterment of the future won't hurt, right?"

While AJ was still contemplating my suggestions, we moved out and continued onto our journey.

I didn't want to break his streak of 100 wins and thus decided to leave him be to get 100 wins and begin his journey.

The next place was supposed to be Pokemon tech, and I, deliberately camped close to the school at night so that I could encounter the students of Pokemon Tech in the morning.

The night passed peacefully and the next day, as I had planned, we heard a group of students quizzing someone.

Upon getting closer, I saw the familiar sight of Joe running on the treadmill and giving stupid answers to a photo of Pidgeoto.

After the students left Joe Misty inquired about the bullying to which Joey gave the same reply as the anime,

Joe-"I knew it was a Pidgeotto which evolves into a Pidgeot and achieves a speed of Mach 2."

Ash-"That's it?"

Joe-"You think you know more than me? Listen well! Poor people like you can never achieve the same level as the students of Pokemon Tech. Anyone losing to someone like you guys would be removed from the school."

Ash-"Pfftt! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!"

I was amazed at the sheer amount of stupidity the students were fed there and how bloated their ego was.

Ash-"So Mr. Know-it-all, If you get defeated from a random passerby, you'll be removed from the school right?"

Joe-"Yes! It's impossible though."

Ash-"Ok! Take out all of your Pokemon and I'll battle only with Pikachu. I'll defeat your entire team with only Pikachu."

Joe-"Hmph! Don't come crying to me later!"

He took out his Weepinbell, Geodude, and Pidgeotto.

Ash-"Pikachu, You're up! Destroy them!"

Joe commanded Weepinbell to use razor leaves, Geodude to use rollout, and Pidgeotto to use quick attack.

Pikachu flashed and all three of them were lying unconscious on the ground.

Joe-"Impossible! You cheated! I've always defeated Pikachu on Battle Simulator"

Ash-"Don't be a sore loser Mr. Know-It-All. Take me to your school. I'll close down this school today!"

Joe was flabbergasted at my declaration, but he still led us to the school.

He showed us the photo of Giselle, the girl who came up with the bullying curriculum and true to her description given by Misty in anime, she was a girl with oily skin-deep beauty.

Inside the school, we were welcomed by jeers and taunts but I dropped a bombshell in the school,

Ash-"Joe here has come to withdraw from the school as he lost to me. Also, I, Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town challenge the entire school!"

Girl-"Someone who couldn't train his Pokemon to enter the Pokeball wants to challenge the Prestigious Pokemon Tech. It's a tho..."

Ash-"Arcanine! Carry all students of the school to this place. Raikou! Not even the ashes of this entire building remain."

Arcanine collected the entire student and teacher body in the open area of the school and Raikou blasted the entire Pokemon Tech into oblivion.

Ash-"So, Miss loudmouth! You were saying something."

The girl was just moving her mouth, unable to release any sound.

The teachers of the Pokemon Tech were angry.

Teacher A-"How dare you destroy the academy?"

Teacher B-"It's because of uncivilized brats like you that the academy was made."

Teacher-"Where will the good trainers for this year come from?"

Ash-"Question Mr. Civilized! Name any Gym leader or Champion or Elite Four or Top sixteen in any league around the world in the entire recorded history."

And silence prevailed!

NO-ONE

Giselle-"We won't take this provocation standing by. I am Giselle, the president of the student body of Pokemon Tech and I challenge you to a battle. If you lose, you're going to pay for rebuilding the Pokemon Tech the same as before."

Ash-"If you lose?"

Giselle-"Don't fantasize too much! You won't win!"

Ash-"Or are you too afraid to bet anything?"

Giselle was visibly angered by my provocation and gave a loud humph.

Giselle-"Bark out your conditions."

Ash-"The academy will be shut down entirely and the entire student and teacher body of the Pokemon Tech will make a live Public Apology for all their behavior and enter voluntary community service for 1 year. I put forth these conditions in my name, DR. ASH KETCHUM from Pallet Town."

For the first time, I used my title as a researcher.

Giselle was shocked at the revelation but she was still trying to act tough.

Giselle-"So what that you're the genius researcher? Being a researcher doesn't make you strong."

I just did a "come one" gesture towards her.

Giselle released her Graveller and looked down on Pikachu, who was obviously smaller compared to Graveller.

Ash-"Pikachu! Knock out both."

Pikachu flashed and the next moment, an iron tail was making contact with Graveller and it flew out, towards Giselle and hit her, both of them getting knocked out in the process.

Ash-"Anyone else from your HIGHLY CIVILIZED ACADEMY wants to challenge this uncivilized brat?"

No one spoke a single word.

Ash-"I'll allow all of you to attack Pikachu all at once. If you can take Pikachu out of action, the previous bet still stands."

There was a loud cheer from the students and teachers as they still believed that they could defeat Pikachu.

Ash-"Pikachu! First, take the Pokemon of the teachers out. These idiots sully the noble Profession of teaching."

Just as the students and Teachers released all their Pokemon and gave the ready signal, Pikachu flashed and disappeared.

Firstly came the sound of thunder, followed by the sounds of those old fogeys in pain.

Secondly came the sound of a huge thunderbolt that defeated all the Pokemon in the Pokemon Tech.

By this time, Giselle had woken up and was horrified to see the extent of devastation brought out by Pikachu.

I sent a message to Professor Oak, telling him the details of my interactions with Pokemon tech.

He was very glad about the closure of Pokemon Tech and gave a detailed account oh how allowing the students of Pokemon Tech into the League was actually causing losses as no one came to see their battles as they lost in the most stupid of ways.

I had all the previously enrolled students listen to that talk and made Professor Oak give detailed accounts of what happened when the students of pokemon Tech actually entered battles.

There was a case where a student faced off against a Gyarados in a water arena and he took out an Oddish. The students of Pokemon Tech actually admired that decision and Professor Oak had to give a bigger explanation about how type advantages don't always work.

At the end of the talk given by Professor Oak, all the students of the academy left the place in shame.

I made sure that the students and teachers of the academy did what they agreed to.

After the brief stint at the Pokemon Academy, we started towards the lighthouse, planning to meet new friends across the way.
