A decision with consequences

Penny, who was lying on her bed, looked at the summoning book she had been reading for the past few days with some curiosity.

Even though she could fully understand all the things that were written in the book, it was knowledge that she could not use for anything at all.

Penny could be quite frustrated by this, but she really had no choice, as the knowledge written in the book was so deep that she was simply unable to comprehend it.

The only comparison she had in mind was that the knowledge written in the book was like trying to understand advanced mathematics when you didn't have even basic knowledge of arithmetic.

It was simply impossible for her to have a correct idea of ​​how to interpret the information since she had never received the basics of magic after all.

However, luckily for her, one of the many rituals that she had in the book seemed to be quite simple and she could certainly try it without much effort.

It was about the ritual to be able to summon a demonic guardian, although at first she thought that the demons were completely evil. She realized through the book that things were not so simple as to be able to classify all demons as evil.

At least with the knowledge that she was gaining through the book, she understood that demons are more complex than what is described to her, because not all of them come from hell to begin with and not all of them are evil.

It simply depends on how lucky you are when summoning strange creatures, in the case of the ritual to summon the guardian it was relatively quite simple.

"In order to summon the guardian that will accompany me throughout my life, I have to make a sacrifice of my own blood.

Using my blood, then I will have to make a few symbols on the ground and later I simply have to recite the words that come to mind.

There is no need to perform any kind of mantra or read complicated lines, just speak from the heart."

Penny sighed and closed her eyes for a moment as she tried to process the information.

'Then, to be able to perform an invocation, the most important thing is simply to use my blood and perform a series of strange symbols to later say a few words.

Although it is not the first time that I read these words, they cause me a great feeling of sadness because in the end I thought that to carry out rituals one would have to make sacrifices or something complicated.

Perhaps put on a strange robe or light many candles and then start reciting some Latin words to summon something extraordinary.

But just needing to do some simple symbols and say some words from the heart just doesn't make sense to me.

To begin with, what does words that come from the heart mean, how am I supposed to define those words, if to begin with, I don't even understand how I can get a perfectly symmetrical drawing using my blood without making mistakes in the drawing of the symbols.

These words are quite misleading because first they tell you that you can perform any kind of ritual but at the same time there are a lot of problems that cannot be solved in a short period of time.

However, I think I am forgetting the most important thing, which is that I lose absolutely nothing by performing this ritual, except for the little blood that I will have to used to be able to draw the symbols on the ground.

I could really try doing the ritual to summon that demonic creature that's supposed to be my guard, though I'm not happy about doing these things. I guess there's nothing to lose in trying.

The worst that could happen is that absolutely nothing happens and I foolishly waste my time trying to perform a ritual from a book I bought in a place that I'm not sure if it exists or if it was a figment of my imagination.

It is really disturbing that the RV where I was supposed to buy the book had disappeared and that absolutely no one knows to tell me where I could find that RV again.

This is all rather strange now that I think about it more clearly...'

Penny sighed deeply and opened her eyes. "But I guess I have to try. At least that way I'll know that if I fail everything will be completely the same, but if for some reason things work out the way they should.

At that moment Penny decided to perform the ritual and, taking into account the advice that strange woman had given her, she decided to do it in a factory that she had been researching on the internet which she had been abandoned for 20 years.

The factory was an old canned goods production area, which had been dismantled at the time in order to be transported to Mexico.

So the old building was abandoned and in complete disrepair. Perhaps the only good thing about the factory is that it was quite far from civilization and could not cause an accident if things went wrong.

After waiting for her to get dark and taking advantage of the fact that her parents were away from her due to the New Year's celebration that was in the city.

She took the things that she had been preparing and she got in her mother's car so she could head to the abandoned factory as she was fully ready to perform her first summon.

She was hopeful that things would turn out completely fine and she could really gain something that could benefit her.

Since in the end, the situation of her family would not allow her to stay out for a long time, because she was convinced that her parents would not be able to raise the necessary money before the established time.
