Episode 20: Movie

"What's the movie about?" I asked as she pressed the play button.

"About some girls going up through a rusty tower." she explained.

"Huh, why?" I opened the popcorn, although I struggled.

"I don't know. Something like her partner dying." she grabbed some popcorn and instantly gobbled it.

"I guess this would be interesting, huh." I ate some. "This must be filled with suspense."

"You bet." She shook her hands to remove dirt in her hands.

And so, the movie ended the introduction with the production and other stuff. There, the first scene occurred. It was interesting, since they started with the incidents before the main event.

Finally, we finished the movie. I looked at her and had an awkward smile on my face.

"Oh," I said.

"Oh," she replied.

"So they ended it like that?" I asked rhetorically. "Well, that was unexpected."

"Yeah, I can't believe it either." she drank a glass of water which she grabbed earlier. "This movie had a lot of plot twists."

I leaned on her bed and started thinking, or more like reflecting. If I ever was invited to do that, I won't do that. And so suddenly, I realized what she said.

"Plot twists?" I asked.

"You know, like when the drone was crushed by the car or the part when she finds out that her best friend died," she explained.

"Well yeah, those are unexpected, aren't they?" I said. "But those aren't plot twists."

"Huh? Are you trying to be critical right now?"

I looked at the television as the credits rolled. I started contemplating.

"Plot twists are unexpected, but not all unexpected are plot twists." I managed to use that kind of sentence to explain what I'm thinking.

"Plot twists are unexpected." she started thinking out loud. "But not all unexpected are plot twists."

I smiled a little upon realizing how smart I am. Although it might be pointless, I guess.

"Yeah, nerd." she gave up understanding.

"Heh, I figured." I replied.

Suddenly, I looked at the clock hanging on her room's wall. It was 12 in the afternoon. With that, I then went straight to my phone to check the date. That's when I realized that something important is about to happen today.

"Hey! You're cool to go to the cinema?" I asked. "Today's the premiere of the anime movie you told me about."

"Wait," she started thinking about what I am talking about. "Oh! The anime series that will be releasing a movie! Crap, it's today."

"Let's go then-" I cut myself and realized something. I looked at her. She's wearing a hoodie and red shorts. "Shouldn't you wear something more formal in a mall?" I questioned.

"Oh, look at you, as if you're no different from me." She pointed at me in which I too recognized. "I'll change here, but how about you?"

"Let's just shop later for-"

"That won't do." She took off her hoodie, revealing a sleeveless shirt. There's a famous animated character in the middle of the cloth, which distracted me from the conversation.

"You take this." she handed out the hoodie she just removed earlier. "And kindly leave the room, please?"

"Oh, yeah. On it." I was summoned back to the conversation and decided to open the door leaving the room. I took a glance, right before I left. She's browsing through her cabinet, filled with different hoodies hanging on it.

Finally, I left and closed the door. I then started observing the hoodie she's given me. It was gray with not a design imprinted on it. As such, there's nothing to take note of, visually. But of course, there's still a scent that's left to observe. In a swift, I have taken the cloth close to my nose, almost sticking it to it. I took a breath, and, uh… Smells just like her. It was sweet, with the perfume she always uses. Then there's also the swea-

"Seems like someone's gone feral." Ophelia has spoken, while standing at the end of the hallway where the living room is.

I instinctively put it down and looked straight ahead. Finally, the door behind me opened which made me turn around. There, I saw her looking elegant and her style as always.

Instead of a hoodie, she's wearing a white jacket. It's opened, revealing the black shirt inside. This time, it was a strawberry logo design. Next is her black jogging pants which fits well to the whole outfit. It's a combination of black and white, the most complimentary colors. Finally is her cap. There's the letter N and Y mixed in one space logo. It's really common around this country.

"You haven't worn it yet?" she said.

"Oh, that's what it was for." I replied.

"What? Did I give you that for you to observe?" she had her hands on her waist, as if to lecture me. "Come on in and change."

I went inside while she left outside. I checked the surroundings and found no clue of what to do. As such, I decided to ask her "Hey, why are you outside?"

There was silence, but it did not take long before she spoke, "I thought you'd want it?"

"It's not like I'm going naked, right?" I explained.

She laughed and said, "Don't be silly. The jogging pants is next to the bed, maybe you haven't seen it." I could feel her teasing aura from that statement.

And so, I decided to check the bedside table where I saw the white jogging pants. Next to it is a cap. The same NY cap that she is wearing. Only an awkward smile stuck to my face, I could feel.

With no choice, I started wearing the jogging pants. Next is the hoodie she was wearing earlier. I could still smell her fragrance upon wearing it. Lastly is the cap which I hope suits my fashion.

I then headed to the door, only to see it slightly opened. It closed, upon realizing that I've seen it. I sighed and headed to it.

"Yup, done," I said as I opened the door. She's looking at the ceiling as if acting that she hasn't seen anything.

"Oh-ho, lucky me I did not get naked," I sang although that probably sucks.

"Oh, you're there." She finally looked at me. "You look amazing."

"You could have just stayed, you know," I said. "There's nothing to be seen anyway."

"Uh, yeah." she shakingly said. "Ah, hah, let's gow now."

And so, we went outside of the apartment and walked elegantly. To be honest, this set of clothes makes me confident in myself. But, well, it's still weird to smell her from all these outfits I'm wearing.

"So, are we in a fashion show?" I jokingly said.

"You bet we are," she replied. "Let's move onto the movie!"

"Yeah, movie!"
