Chaos filled the lands, adventurer's plagued the world with their greed for everything. But that's what was the best about these games, playing as a mob.
"You've selected Undead Soldier." The System Says.
"Yes I knew it'd be available." Sevarian says while intently looking at the screen.
"Please input your username." the System Says while displaying a keyboard.
-
Clack, Click, Clack.
"That should be perfect." Sevarian says out loud.
He looked at his name on the screen one last time before pressing enter, of course it was a perfect name.
"Kotami, It's perfect! Named after my favorite character from an old manga." Sevarian says to himself.
Beginning the game his character was waking up in a graveyard surrounded by other undead soldiers who were triggered by an adventurer. This was the beginning of the game he played, Called "Mobs of Vinzeld." A popular rpg that allowed players to play as the mobs rather than the standard adventurer.
Though it was still given as an option, most would try out the mob at least for a good while before realizing the difference in the grind. Lots of people gave up on being a mob after realizing that it took over 300 hours to reach a high enough level.
Which was 100x harder compared to the adventure which only took about 30 hours depending on how dedicated you were. The game was like that to help push people towards the grinding side of things.
But people just didn't find it as interesting to devote themselves to these mobs. Except one person, Sevarian Rafardi. A kid who's always wondered how mobs get by in these fantasy worlds.
How they go on with life while the heroes and adventurers reign supreme. It's just something that's peaked his curiosity for a long time but who wouldn't be curious about what happens with the mobs?
It can be quite interesting and might even show why some of them are as strong as they are.
"Sevarian you're going to be late." Mom says while walking past his room.
"Coming!" Sevarian shouts.
School, the everyday routine for most kids around Sevarian's age but it wasn't everyone's favorite thing to do on a day to day basis. Most kids want to do what they want and hangout with their friends.
But it didn't matter to Sevarian, he just chugged through it all since he knew what he'd be doing at the end of the day.
So like any other day Sevarian put on his dark black hoodie and dark blue jeans. This was his normal outfit, accompanied by his usual check in the mirror.
He has Short white hair that just barely reaches above his eyes, Grey eyes, and manages to keep a cool and collective head most days. What a great trait to have too.
"I'm off Mom!" Sevarian shouts as he heads for the front door.
"Alright Sev, I'll see you after school!" Mom shouts back to him.
This was quite normal for Sevarian since it was just him and his Mom who lived together. His dad passed away a few years ago and he's an only child.
But moving past that and back to the normal day itself. Sevarian walked to school everyday so he got to enjoy some peace before reaching his school.
"I'm slowly getting better and better at this game. Soon my character will be max level, can't believe I've been able to grind it this hard." Sevarian thought to himself.
Walking past cars and students who talk with one another. It was boring outside of the game world but Sevarian was use to it.
Just pushing through and thinking about what he has to do next.
"If I put more levels into my demon skills, I'll be able to take down a higher level Adventurer today." Sevarian thinks.
"Hey Sevarian." A soft voice says.
Approaching Sevarian was a girl named Ashley, she was his first friend. Friends since the first grade but even she couldn't figure out why he didn't have more friends.
Ashley had long, blonde hair that went past her shoulders and usually wore a hoodie and sweatpants.
Sev was a quiet guy so it was expected but he also didn't care much about everything else. He prefers the game world or at least that's what he did for the time being.
"Hey Ash, time for class huh." Sevarian says with a bit of an annoyed tone.
"Yeah, did you finish last night's homework?" Ashley asks while walking besides Sevarian.
Homework, something Sev always forgot to do until the next day.
"Nope, but I'll do it before class starts." Sevarian says with confidence.
Like that the two of them made their way to school and into the first class of the day. It was an ordinary day, nothing special but yet it always felt like it dragged on.
But as the school day went by, a strange feeling went throughout Sevarian's mind and he couldn't figure out what it was.
Dark thoughts went throughout his head and made him think something odd was going to happen but he didn't know what. It was a gut feeling that he couldn't shake.
"This is weird. I've never felt this before." Sevarian thinks to himself.
Rumble!!! Rumble!!
The ground began to shake as everyone began to panic, something was going on. An earthquake perhaps.
BOOOM!!!
Screams began to fill throughout the school as panic and terror set in amongst the students.
"Everyone needs to evacuate in a safe, orderly fashion!" The Principal yells over the intercom.
"What is going on?" Sevarian asks out loud while glancing out the window.
Before his eyes was what everyone would later on refer to as, "The First Gate."
One of many gates that needed to be completed by the humans of this world but no one knew this at the time. Only Sevarian was starting to notice as the creatures poured out from these giant gates.
"Sev we got to go!" Ashley shouts while trying to get his attention.
Sev was too focused on what was happening outside to realize anything. Creatures were real and now invading his world, what would become of this?
"Yeah. Yeah, let's go." Sevarian says while turning around and running towards Ashley.
The Start of a new world.
