Making our way to Ashley's house, it took us some time to get there. Mobs, system users, and even some normal people were an issue along the way.
Normal people didn't try to fight much so we went by them with ease, and snuck past both the mobs and system users. We didn't need to waste time fighting them right now since we had a different goal.
But it's weird that I haven't received a quest yet, considering that I've completed the first gate. I wonder what's going on with the beings who control the system.
"How far is it?" Rika asks with a tired tone in her voice.
"Not too much further." I respond while squinting.
Ahead of us was the sign that said we were in the northern Square, so we weren't that far away anymore. Probably an hour at most, Our houses weren't that far away.
The mobs didn't seem like they were around here as much as they were in the beginning, which is strange. I'm not sure why they wouldn't still be around as much.
But I do see Ashley's house over there. Her house was one of the old traditional homes since her parents inherited it from her grandfather. I can't believe the doors aren't broken yet either, so she really could be here.
"Be careful Sevarian." Kallista warns while looking around.
"I will." I respond before heading up the steps.
After a few moments they had followed up behind me, they really don't trust this area. Honestly I wouldn't trust this area either but I don't have much of a choice right now.
Knock. Knock.
It was silent for a few minutes before I could hear anything at all, but finally I heard some footsteps rummaging around in there.
Knock. Knock.
"Hey, it's me Sevarian." I say while trying not to be too loud.
After a few more minutes someone was finally opening the door.
Click.
Upon the door opening up I was greeted with the long blonde hair, green eyes, and casual clothes wearing Ashley. Yes, she always wears comfy clothes it seems.
"Wow, you're alive." Ashley says with a surprised tone.
"Yeah, I'm sorry about leaving you behind." I reply with a sincere tone.
"I'm still pissed off about it, but I understand that it was hard for you, After your mom died." Ashley says with an understanding tone.
"Yeah, but I'm glad you're okay. Is your family doing okay?" I question with a concerned tone.
"Of course, they're always prepared." Ashley answers.
I feel better knowing that she's safe, so I guess I don't have too much to worry about for the time being. I'll just have to figure out where these shops are now.
"I see you have another person with you." She says while looking at Kallista.
"Yeah, she's supposed to be one of the heroes of the world. She's pretty strong." I reply with an honest tone.
Kallista is strong but I'm not sure what's keeping her in my group. I'm sure the heroes have a plan it a goal that they are trying to achieve so I wouldn't understand the reasoning.
"That's good. Do you all want to come in for a bit?" Ashely asks with a kind tone.
"Yes." I respond while she opens the door.
We all went in and she locked up behind us. It didn't take long for us to get comfy in the living room. That's where her Dad and Mom were waiting, must've been relaxing in there while they had the chance.
Not too many opportunities to relax in this apocalyptic world.
~Quest, Error. System Reboot in progress.
So it seems to be having problems, that would explain a lot.
"Ah, Sevarian it's been awhile." Her Dad says while standing up.
"Yeah it has, been pretty busy." I reply while taking a seat on the couch.
"Been out there fighting those things?" He questions.
"Yes, someone has to." I answer while pondering my thoughts a bit.
Do any of the other system users even fight against the mobs much? I've not seen much about the others, except when it comes to hunting me so I guess that's why I'm so curious.
"Dad can we have some space?" Ashley asks politely.
"Of course sweetie. Let's go Julie." Her Dad says to her mom while they both begin to leave the room.
Her family was really nice considering the situation at hand, I would've expected them to tell her to keep us out. Mostly because anything is possible right now.
"So this is your best friend?" Kallista whispers with curiosity in her voice.
"Yes." I whisper back.
So over the course of the next few hours I had begun to explain everything I went through so far with Rika and Kallista. It was quite a bit of information for Ashley to understand but she didn't seem too surprised.
She got to know Rika and Kallista for a little bit while I tried to figure out what was going on with my system lately.

Shit, I guess I'll have to wait for the time being since that means I can't access anything until this thing is working again. Unless they are doing it on purpose.
~I'll see you soon Sevarian.
Huh?
After that message I no longer got any pop up messages from anything, it seemed like the system was officially in the reboot process. I'm glad that we stopped here since I don't have a way to use anything.
I wonder what the system meant by "I'll see you soon." That's an interesting thing to say.
I'm not even sure what to make of that right now, considering everything that's happened in the last week. But it's safe here, I'll enjoy the peace while it lasts.
"Sevy, your friend is trying to get your attention." Rika says while tugging on my arm.
"Sorry, I was lost in my thoughts for a moment there." I reply while focusing on what was going on.
I've got to get better at paying attention to everything, jeez.
