7: Li Fei's Resolution

Li Fei's sudden reveal made the twin's smiles wryly, both of them thought that their master must have lost his mind after terminally incapacitated for years. Aylan and Yulan turned their head to each other, leaning their head in sync as if to confirm themselves not in the same dream.

Aylan speaks first. "Umm, you must be very tired master. Perhaps, do you need me to massage your forehead while lying on your bed like usual?

The reserved and quiet lady nodded as to agree with her twin sister, she hastily rose from the bed to reach the door. "I'll bring the herb tea."

Li Fei raised his hand, staring at both of them in all seriousness and thus made Yulan plopped back to her spot almost immediately.

 "I appreciate your kindness, but it won't be necessary. The last time I checked, my mind is as clear as a day, sound and pretty much sane. Except the part where I'm still oblivious why I was reincarnated to this world in the first place.

Glancing at the twin alternately, Li Fei was aware that they were having a conundrum from this mind-bending fuckery.

After that, Li Fei dragged the stool from under Yulan's makeup desk, he channeled his energy into the ring and waved his sleeve to present Peng Lao's inheritances in front of them on the stool.

"These are…" Yulan was the first to recognize Peng Lao's provisions. "Ah! No wonder you were so eager to dig the pig pen this morning!"

Both of them exchange their gazes once again, still in disbelief. After pondering for a few moments while rubbing their chin, the cheerful twin sister finally opens her mouth.

Yulan nodded again. "She is right, you did call me, Yu'er just a moment ago, master."

Li Fei grunted in annoyance and yet completely unbothered by Aylan's adorable pouting face, he rubbed his chin with an index finger to come up with a logical and believable reasoning for the two.

"Alright, it's a little crazy, but please hear me out first, okay?" Li Fei glanced at the two back and forth.

"We are all ears." 

After a short glance, the twin replies in sync while nodding their heads in unison. Whether they were aware or not, the two sounds very cute together.

Therefore, Li Fei told them everything what's in his mind from the moment he woke up in the morning with a mighty 'morning wood' which was ready to pierce the very heaven. And then he continues how Peng Lao's memory and knowledge were assimilated into his 'Sea of Consciousness', until the moment when Peng Lao's memory about them resurfaced and made him changed his mind.

"There, I swore upon my mother's name that everything I've said is true. You may believe me or not, it's all up to you."

Yulan staring daggers at him, anxious yet fueled with curiosity. Li Fei nodded at her as he noticed the intense gaze.

"You said my master's memory and knowledge had been assimilated into your memories?"

"Pretty much so. To simply put, your master's body is well and very lively, especially down there, but not so much with his soul. Yeah, you can say that a god or goddess did a switcheroo the moment your master's soul was taken to heaven. My condolences, truly I do." Li Fei bowed sincerely.

The room's atmosphere became gloomy as the twin ladies held hands tightly, reminiscing the time with their master. Although Peng Lao was cold toward them for the most of time during the prime time of this establishment, he was still and always a guardian figure for them and the other courtesans when he was alive.

Before long, Aylan hugged her twin sister, crying in silence in Yulan's embrace but the burden was too much for her and finally cries her heart out.

"Ssshh, I know, I know…" Yulan pampers her sister by giving her a myriad of kisses on Aylan's forehead while rubbing her back attentively.

"Oh, please… Just call me Yulan, or Yu'er is just fine by me. I do have feelings that we'll live under the same roof from now on."

"Probably, I haven't decided yet, especially after learning your long history with Master Peng Lao. I just don't have the heart to fool both of you and live inside someone's else skin."

He caught a faint blush on Yulan's face and the latter quickly avert her gaze. Focusing on doting her twin sister.

"Hmm," Yulan turned her attention at him after her sister was asleep due to excessive cries, "I do noticed the difference in the way you talk and your tone. It's sounds… sweet? I thought it was just a side-effect of the poison. You even care about my wellbeing so much whereas my master only did it occasionally or when I was really sick and couldn't stands on my feet. Pray tell, what are your agendas, does the God or Goddess who reincarnated your soul this world bestow you a… message, perhaps?"

"Ah, speaking of which…" Li Fei swipe the air, summoning the transparent bluish screen before him. "It says…"
