The Jackass and The Brazen

Su Yeon's POV

I don't know what to do next, all I know is that I am inches in front of my boss's face and that he's somewhat enjoying it. My face flustered at the sight of him, he may be good-looking but his attitude says otherwise.

"And here I thought men only do these kinds of things," Mr. Gwang said with a sly smile before grasping my shoulders and standing up, "And we haven't properly introduced each other yet, and you're making a move already." He added before chuckling, what a jackass. I scoffed at his remarks before composing myself.

"Your head's too deep in your ass, Mr. Gwang," I replied with a smile before dusting my suit to leave him alone. He's so infuriating just seeing him, it suits him right. I went ahead and waited outside for Mr. Gwang with the little respect I have for him today, when he finally stepped out of the building, the chauffeur opened the car door for him. He looked at me as if suggesting that I get in the car with him, I scoffed at him again and hopped in front. Taking the passenger seat, I heard him hop on the back of the car before the chauffeur closed it. Mr. Gwang rolled down the car window before conversing with the chauffeur.

"We're heading back to Gwang Industries," He said to the chauffeur and he simply nodded before rolling it back up, the atmosphere was both awkward and tense when I noticed him looking at me in the rearview mirror. I glanced at him with a nasty look on my face before looking away, then my phone started to ring. I opened it to who was calling me, and it was my best friend Mi-na.

"Hello, I'm sorry but I can't talk to you right now. I'll call you back later," I answered before hanging up. Mr. Gwang seemed to hear me and called me out.

"Ms. Shin," he called.

"Yes, Mr. Gwang?" I replied with a forced smile while only looking at him in the rearview mirror, my body facing away from him, totally meaning that I didn't want to talk to him.

"Call Mr. Kim, my supervisor, and tell him he's needed in my office," he says without looking at me at all, looking at him, he's holding his phone and browsing social media. Wow, isn't he unbearable, I sighed internally before replying.

"I am currently new to this establishment and haven't been properly acquitted with the customs and contacts of the people you are involved with," I answered, "So, may I please have contact info of Mr. Lee?" I asked through a gritted smile.

"You're suddenly so formal, Ms. Shin." Mr. Gwang said and stopped browsing before looking at me with his eyes only, "I'm not used to this kind of attitude, it's kind of scary," he added but still handed me his phone.

"Whatever," I mumbled through my breath, and dialed Mr. Kim's number.

"You're welcome," Mr. Gwang replied before taking his phone back.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Kim." I greeted him.

"To whom am I talking to?" He asked and I heard a slight snicker, and I immediately realized what was going on. What I'm about to say ought to teach him a lesson, I faced him fully while staring at him.

"This is Mr. Gwang's secretary, and he would like to relay a message that you are unfortunately fired," I answered and Mr. Gwang's eyes widened.

"W-what?!" Mr. Kim surprisingly asked then Mr. Gwang stole my phone away.

"Hello, Mr. Kim. This is Gwang Hyeon Woo speaking," he suddenly spoke and glared at me, "I apologize for the sudden interruption but I think my secretary has misunderstood what I said, you are needed in my office is what I meant." He mentioned before ending the call.

"Happy to serve you, Mr. Gwang," I said to him with a sly smile back at him.

"Be thankful that I am a very considerate man, Ms. Shin, that alone should cost you your job." He emphasized.

"Thank you for your consideration, Mr. Gwang," I snarkily replied as the car pulled to a stop, I hopped out of the car and waited for him to get out. As soon as he hopped out, I bowed at him and snatched my phone back before heading to his office. I regret being in the same space as him, I think I can make a quick note about it. When I reached the elevator, I saw him following me so I quickly pressed the elevator button to close the door but failed.

"Ms. Shin, what are you doing?" He asked me, "Are you trying to close the door on me?" He added.

"No, sir, I was merely clicking the elevator button to wait for you," I faked.

"Oh, is that so?" Mr. Gwang smiled a little.

"Of course..." I trailed off replying while looking at him, "Not." I then expressed with disdain before facing away. The way up was quite tense and before we reached our floor, he pressed a button that stopped the elevator and cornered me by putting his hands on the railings to where I was standing, I was standing between his hands and looked away.

"You know, Ms. Shin, this was all fun and games..." he trailed off, his breath fanning the side of my face as his face followed mine, "But you've got to fix that attitude of yours if you want to stay in this company." I scoffed at his remarks.

"Really? My attitude?" I asked him, "I wouldn't have this kind of attitude if it wasn't for your attitude." I reminded him and faced him, our faces were inches closer again but this time it was because of anger.

"You do know who you're talking to, right, Ms. Shin?" Mr. Gwang lifted his face yet his eyes remained fixated on me before loosening his tie.

"I do, sir," I smiled with an evil intent, "In fact..." I trailed off before kneeing him to where the sun didn't shine, which made him gasp for air.

"What the--" he gasped as he kneeled down and looked at me in pain.

"You know, sir..." I trailed off and leaned down to fix his tie, "I'm glad we're still introducing each other, we still have time to change. Don't you think so?" I asked and dusted off his suit before smiling at him. I pressed the button to let the elevator run again and I composed myself.

"I'll make sure--" He was cut off and was still kneeling while probably taking his sweetest time facing the consequences of his actions before slowly standing up beside me once the elevator doors opened.

"Your office is this way, Mr. Gwang," I smiled and gestured for him to get out, "Don't make me wait any longer if you still want to have a new generation." I pointed it out to him while tapping my shoes in a slow and demeaning manner. He cleared his throat before stepping out of the elevator while I followed suit.

"W-why are you following me?" He stuttered then realized it immediately, "Right..." he trailed off before walking ahead of me. That's right, and you better act right after that. Mr. Kim was already waiting for him and I bowed.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Kim," I greeted him and Mr. Gwang slightly flinched beside me, "I apologize for misunderstanding the situation, I'm still a newbie after all," I stated and I saw Mr. Gwang composed himself.

"Yes, I could see that," Mr. Kim said and I left them alone when my business was not needed anymore. After a while, the meeting ended and it was night. I greeted Mr. Kim out before stretching.

"I didn't know it was this late already," I thought out loud while yawning, I was surprised when I turned around to see my boss who was standing awkwardly, "Oh my gosh, you scared me, sir." I quickly said.

"Ms. Shin," he says without looking and lends out his hand, I looked at it and looked back at him.

"What am I going to do with your hand, Mr. Gwang?" I asked him and he glared at me a little.

"I want to..." he trailed off and cleared his throat as if something was stuck between his throat.

"Want to what, sir?" I asked him.

"Just take it," he said and grabbed my hand, and clasped my hand a little too tight.

"Sir, I don't know what's going on but I'm sure that you're embarrassing yourself at this point," I stated to him.

"I want to apologize," Mr. Gwang said through coughs. I heard what he said and was about to smile but I want to drag it a little bit longer.

"You want to what, sir?" I asked him, "Your coughs are much louder than what you just said," I mentioned it to him. He scratched the back of his head before saying it again.

"I want to say that I'm sorry," he said with clear intentions this time but faced away when I was still looking at him. I chuckled at him and shook hands with him.

"I already heard you, but I wanted to make sure," I said to him and felt relieved somehow, why do I feel like this is his first time apologizing? I let go of his hold on me and bowed at him, "I'll see you tomorrow, sir." I bid farewell and smiled genuinely at him.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Ms. Shin." Mr. Gwang replied and he smiled at me too, see, he looks even better if he's nice too.

1 year later (2023)...

What do you think happened on that "fateful" afternoon? How "harmonious" do you think Shin Su Yeon and Gwang Hyeon Woo really are after a year?

Anyways, Happy New Year! It's now 2024 and I feel relieved that I've gone over and dealt with things in my life, although the publishing of chapters is still slow, I will slowly find momentum later on! XOXO <3
