My eyes fluttered open and met with a pure white ceiling. Where am I? It didn't look like the ceiling in my home.
I tried to move and realized that I had an IV drip attached to my hand, and I was wearing an oxygen mask. I was also wearing a hospital gown.
What happened? Why am I in a hospital? How long have I been here?
I looked around and saw my precious little boy and Rai’s mom on the sofa area of the room. Little Rai looked like he was doing his homework with the guidance of his grandma.
“Mom? Rai?” I called them with a croaked voice while removing the oxygen mask from my face.
Little Rai was the first to notice me. “Mommy, you are awake!” he ran to my side excitedly, followed by Rai’s mom.
“Katarina dear, you are awake,” she smiled that motherly smile of hers and pressed a button on the side of my bed.
“What..” I tried asking her, but my voice was too hoarse. Rai’s mom went to a table and came back with a glass of water for me.
