Chapter 2: Part 7

"Miss Are you alrig-" A.R.I.A asked me. But before she could finish her sentence, I felt a gush of wind come from behind me and lift me off of my feet. Before I knew it, I had hit the wall in front of me and fell to the ground. I groaned and flipped myself over. Looking up at the wall I just hit, I saw a bunch of blood dripping down. My sight was hazy and the light wasn't helping. Then something popped up, covering up the light. I looked at the features carefully and noticed that it was Graces.

Suddenly another wave of realization hit me. My dad just died in my arms, Mom might not be safe, I don't know if Maxy made it out alive, I almost died trying to get here. These people, the people who lived in the same school as me, they were the only people left here in this school. My breath started to quicken and my eyes widened. Everything around me was perfectly normal, but all I could feel, all that I could hear, were my father's dying words and the screams of people.

"Amy? Amy! No not now. Hey, hey it's okay. You're safe and um, and… " Grace tried to find the words needed to comfort me. The visions of my future, a future that I could have gotten. If only I had been there to save him, it could have happened. A happy family, in our home. The beautiful Earth and it's beauties that I might not be able to witness anymore came and invaded my mind. Then the corpses of my fellow classmates, my once teachers. I saw their final expressions. The look of terror and sorry imprinted on their faces. They should've died happy. They could've died better.

"Miss, it's not your fault. Breath. Your health levels aren't normal. Miss Grace, it's happening too much." I heard A.R.I.A say.

"I know, I know. I don't know what to do. We don't have the proper things. Can you take us to the other side of the school? We can stay there and gather what we have. Besides, it's safer." I saw Grace look back at me.

I looked at her, her eyes full of worry. I looked around the room, everything looked like an illusion. Steady things that I knew couldn't move were dancing around. I must have hit my head very hard on the wall.

"Amy, are you okay now? Kyla and Christy finished patching up your cuts. They were pretty deep, especially the one in your right arm. James is cleaning your knife, ya know, the one you came in with?" I looked around and saw Kyla's tear stained face. She was putting away the dirty bandages that I had on and Christy was packing away some tiny bottles in a bag. I hadn't noticed that they were tending to me.

"I'm fine. Thank you for tending to me." I groaned, wobbling as I tried to stand up.

"Take it easy Amy, you have many cuts on you." Grace told me, motioning and helping me to the special chair that belonged to the Smithsons. Not having the energy to argue back, I sat down and breathed heavily, trying to fill my body's wants of fresh air. I could feel everyone's eyes dig through my skull, each using a different emotion as a drill. I could tell that Grace drilled some mom vibes. Anyone could easily tell that she was grateful that I was alive and that I came to rescue them, but she was mad that I risked a lot and got hurt a lot.

"Amy? Are you alright?" She asked stupidly.

"Perfect." I responded, breathing heavily. I rested my head, for it was pounding too loud for my liking.

"Amy, your breathing is off." James noticed, but didn't bother looking up while talking. I hadn't really noticed, but Grace's look made me shiver.

"Amy what happened?" Christy asked. I knew her from some of the meetings that my dad had to go to. Her father was one of the administrators here.

"They're all dead. Even the principal." I said, ignoring the fact that I had just been crying over that. Everyone went cold, the room silent.
