Chapter 2: Part 2

"I love you Maxy." I said, pulling him away from me. I sprinted off wiping my tears. I looked back and saw him running in the other direction.

Please make it out here Maxy. Forget about me. You can go live with Mom. Stay safe.

Before I could be crushed by the wall, I skidded and turned to Grace's direction, avoiding any obstacles in my way. I took off my eye patch, revealing my other eye and allowing me to see better. Suddenly a loud bang was heard. Looking back I saw the statue's right arm lying in the middle of the hallway, along with the wall and ceiling that was supposed to be there. Anything that wasn't tied to dawn flew out of the school to be lost in space. Knowing what to do, I quickly grabbed the handle bar of the door, opening it in the process. I pulled myself up, trying to save my own life. My helmet was running out of oxygen from all of the breaths I was taking. Pots and decoration flew at me, my hands threatening to slip. I could feel my suit ripping, my skin along with it. Finally, when all of the objects were out of the way, I yanked myself up and closed the door, sealing it oxygen tight. It was made for things like this and I was glad that I had made it in time.

I looked at myself, inspecting what had happened, and taking everything in. My suit was ripped, some threads still hanging loose. My skin was bleeding in the exposed parts and my helmet was running low on oxygen. Quickly taking my helmet off, I got up from my spot. Some of the loose threads from my suit were caught in the door, but I didn't mind. Ignoring the pain I felt in my cuts, I ripped some of my clothes off and made them bandages for my legs. I adjusted my eyepatch and slightly jogged towards the hallways. I knew the school like the back of my hand. My dad had said that there would be a meeting with most of the school teachers. I decided to head there, checking for survivors. My heart pounding, my breaths uneven. Then I stopped.

Blood.

There was blood everywhere. It was like red pen ink was grading a test paper, except the student got everything wrong. The beautiful canvas of the room, a part of the school that I had known for so long, was smeared with red paint everywhere. So many emotions crowded my mind. I held the wall for support. Fear for my friends who might not be alive. Guilt for not getting here on time. Sadness, for the poor people here. Innocent souls leaving their body.

Father…

I ran. I searched amongst the dead bodies, the corpses. My once fellow teachers were lying there, pools of blood surrounded them while their clothes were ruined. The place reeked of rotten flesh. Steam crowded the vents, the giant computer screen was cracked, along with all the other ones as well. Electric sizzled and cracked on the black screen.

"FATHER!" I yelled. I ran faster. The pain in my legs were unbearable, but I pushed it to the side in hopes of finding my father, my dad, my last family member in this school. I screamed his name over and over again. I ran deeping into the room, hoping that he would be okay. Then I saw him.
