"Did I just get kidnapped? What the hell is happening, Draco?" Claire asked after they have finally come back to the building that Draco had bought. Even though she was blind, she still understood that they were no longer in the hospital, as the smell of wood and metal penetrated her nostrils.

She also understood that there was another man besides Draco.

That's all she knew. It was too uncomfortable.

She even started to regret her decision a bit.

"Sorry for not warning you earlier. It's just that I didn't want to create too much turmoil." Draco calmly stated. "It's going to be suspicious when a company rivaling Azure Laboratory appears out of nowhere, alongside the disappearance of Claire Johnson, don't you think? I just took some precautions to hide your traces."

Claire nodded. This much made sense. There were many greedy people despite the devastating times, so Draco's safety measures weren't on a whim. Other than that, the fact that Draco still talked the same way as before made her relax a bit. It appeared that his words weren't just a blatant lie.

"Adam, take care of the surveillance cameras later, alright?" Draco said to his companion before taking a glance at Claire's small body from above. "Now, I don't think there is any reason for us to delay your treatment, so let's begin right away."

Claire's hands clenched visibly as she gulped, adrenaline rushing through her veins. She opened her mouth a few times but said nothing, eventually just nodding.

"There is no need to be nervous. It's not even going to be painful." Draco smiled, deducing what she was feeling just from her little gestures. It was hard to read some people, but Claire... well, it was like an open book.

Taking out the little tube, which was stolen by Adam, he opened it and took a sniff. The aroma of herbs flooded Draco's nose, reminding him of his strolls within the forests.

This was an extremely potent potion created by elves themselves, from the herbs used in their territories. It was expensive even in their lands because it required over two years to produce, thus gaining the ability to heal almost all the internal injuries within the body.

Much to Adam's regret, it didn't work on his sister's illness.

No, that was something much more troublesome to deal with.

"Tilt your head back," Draco asked and Claire obliged. He then put the tube above Claire's head, slowly dripping all the liquid straight into her eyes. At first, nothing happened, but Draco soon saw color returning to Claire's eyes as her hands trembled slightly.

"Ah." A strange sound escaped from Claire's mouth and she put a hand over her mouth. Her sight had returned, truly. It was still extremely blurry, but she could see. The part she missed the most had finally returned.

Draco stepped away from her, letting her have some time.

He stood in silence, together with Adam, listening as tears hit against the cement ground, yet they said nothing. Draco watched as a peculiar feeling washed over him. It has been a long since he had helped anyone, in any way.

Though, this didn't feel too bad.

"So, you were really just a student..." Claire finally glanced at the two individuals standing before her, washing away the tears forming in her eyes.

Eyes through which she could see.

"Was my voice too manly for your taste?"

"No, it's just that the way you talk reminds me of an old sly bastard."

"Lovely."

Claire chuckled slightly as she stood up from the chair, glancing at her own hands from above. With a smile on her face, and a few tears still rolling down her cheeks, she bowed deeply. "Thank you very much. I will repay this debt."

"I know you will. We signed a soul contract after all." Draco smiled as he had never, visualizing the pile of money he would get from working with Claire.

"Don't ever smile like that again. It's creepy." Adam frowned, joining the conversation.

"Oh, right. Here, Claire, it's Adam, the one who kidnapped you." Draco put a hand over Adam's shoulder, only to be pushed away. "He is a professional thief and the one who deals with all the troublesome things for me. If you have any questions, just ask him because he will be the one responsible for the company's management."

Adam frowned even further. "You have to be joking..."

"Oh, come on, don't sweat it, friend. We both know you have a knack for managing companies. Didn't you work in a guild before becoming a renowned thief?"

"How...do you know that?"

"I saw you once across the street." Draco joked, causing Adam to sigh in disbelief. Sometimes, it really felt like he was talking to a kid. However, he knew otherwise. Draco was both dangerous and mysterious, sometimes even to the point where it's scary.

"Is he always like that?" Claire, who just observed their conversation from the side, asked with a chuckle.

"You don't even know." Adam put his hand on his forehead. "I would rather stay blind for the rest of my life than deal with him."

Hearing what Adam said, both Claire and Draco stopped talking.

The air turned awkward before Adam finally broke the silence. "I am sorry..."

"Alright." Draco clasped his hand, changing the shifting mood. "It's already late, so I have to go back to my apartment soon. There are a lot of ingredients for creating potions right over there, so feel free to stretch your muscles. And Adam, please create a website for our company. Of course, anonymously. I am not yet strong enough to deal with whole other companies."

"You are really making me do this..." Adam massaged his temples, thinking back to his peaceful life. "Then what are you going to do? How are you going to be involved in this company at all?"

"Hmm... I, of course, will be taking care of storing all the money in my bank account." Draco grinned happily, imagining the number of goods he could buy with the future money.

A few veins popped on Adam's forehead.

He really felt like beating the shit out of this bastard.

Seeking any mental help, Adam glanced at Claire.

However, she was already far away from them, not interested in their conversation in the slightest. Her eyes sparkled as she grabbed all different kinds of herbs, sniffing them and almost trembling with excitement.

Great.

Now, he also needs to deal with a mentally ill one.

Just great.

sorry, studying takes up a lot of time
