Felix Shin and his Gifts

(1st Person POV)

The state of my mind was serene. I found myself at peace sleeping calmly in my bed. My consciousness is in a very tranquil state.

Suddenly, an incredibly irritating sound of an alarm clock rang in my ears.

I forced myself up and slammed my hand on the alarm clock. Then, I snuggled back into my duvet once again going back to the world of dreams.

'Wait, an alarm clock????'

I opened my eyes and looked around my surroundings.

'Where am I?', this thought struck me.

For a few moments, I was completely blank and I wasn't able to make head and tails of my situation.

Suddenly, I felt a throbbing in my head. It was a headache, worse than I ever had in my lifetime.

"Aaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!", I exclaimed loudly due to the severe pain and clutched my head. It felt like someone was opening my skull using a tool similar to a bottle opener.

After a few minutes, the pain in my head subsided and my gasping turned into breathing.

I took a deep breath and thought about my situation.

I started to remember what had occurred to me and how I came to be in this situation.

My Death.

The chance I had been provided.

The otherworldly being.

I started to recall the details.

I came to know that the pain I had experienced was due to the memories being forced into my mind.

'My name (This body's?) is Felix Shin. Age is 15 years old. Living in the area of Noryangjin, Korea. No family or parents. Living on the inheritance provided by the parents.'

I also came to know the fact that I am not inhabiting the body of someone else. This body was a pure blank state and had just materialised on this Earth.

So, I don't have to worry at all about any impact of taking one's life due to my conscience.

After scouring through my memories, I also came to know about the blessings I was provided to aid in my journey.

The first gift I got was - Inhuman Temporal Perception / Supreme Kinetic Vision. This is an ability that will allow me to easily react to strikes and evade them with minimal effort. I can also follow the trajectory of the opponent's hits and parry them with relative ease.

This will be slowing down time from my perspective and I can activate it with just a single thought. However, there would be some time limitations on using this and I would have to train hard to get rid of them.

The second gift I would be receiving is enhanced elasticity and flexibility of your body. This will aid me along with my first gift. I can dodge the strikes of my opponent at inhuman angles and can fold my body in positions impossible for an average human. I can use both of these gifts together as well. This would be a passive ability that wouldn't exert my body deeply and it is integrated in my muscles.

Considering these blessings, I can easily deduct that I might be facing some fights in the future.

These gifts are in raw shape and they will evolve the way I try to mould them.

I should probably first try these abilities on my own.

I am told that the first gift might have severe aftermath after I use it but soon I would be able to use it at a moment's notice and can keep it up for a long period.

Now all the small details regarding my ID Card and all the other legal details have been taken care of. Today I will be transferring to a school. All the details regarding that have also been taken care of.

I can also easily speak and read Korean.

I jump up from the bed and see around this body... No, my home.

It was not a very lavish home but it had all the necessary amenities.

Just a humble home with 2 rooms (bedroom and study room), a kitchen and a bathroom. All the bare minimum regarding my shelter. A TV, a radio, a computer and several books for studying were taken care of.

I stepped into the bathroom to wash my face and see myself for the first time in the mirror.

I had black glossy hair, obviously well taken care of. My skin tone was honey bronze, and my face was proportioned without any glaring faults.

I could see that my body was lean and healthy but without many muscles.

'Not a bad appearance.'

After washing up, I went back to my room to try out the gifts given to me.

I will focus my eyes in front of the wall and try to activate the first ability.

Instantly, it felt like the flow of time had stopped and I could see everything in slow motion. I saw a housefly glide in front of me but it felt so slow that I could just grab it easily.

I reached out towards it and clutched it. At that moment, I truly felt unstoppable.

Suddenly, I felt nausea and my mind blanked out for a second so I had to stop using the ability.

Thus, this ability has its drawbacks as nausea and fatigue. I cannot continue using it for a long period without severe consequences to my body.

It is a very powerful ability that can potentially make me very strong.

Now to my second ability, I try to bend different parts of my body. My flexibility felt near god-like and I didn't face any obstacles to the folding of my joints throughout my body.

I felt as if my range of actions had increased severalfold. I still held some feelings of when I was a normal human so I could feel the difference.

There was a huge difference between our abilities, the other being nearly insignificant to this.

I tried to imagine an opponent striking at me and I dodged those imaginary punches.

My second gift was in a much more powerful state than the first gift. My Supreme Kinetic Vision had more potential but enhanced flexibility had much more usage at an initial stage.

I felt extremely pumped up and excited about using these abilities and experiencing different fights.

After testing my abilities as much as I could, I got ready for school. Seems like I already remember the information on how to reach my school.

After I took a bath, I opened my wardrobe to take out my uniform.

It has a black blazer, a black tie and a white shirt. It was a standard uniform. The quality was very high indicating that I had been enrolled in an expensive school.

My name 'Felix Shin' was written just below the blazer pocket along with the logo of the school.

I changed into the uniform of the school, put all the books in my bag and then locked my apartment.

Onward to Byuksan Middle School...
