The Second Companion

I look at the people in front of me and sigh a little. It has been more than a month since I arrived in this world. Medea and I make tremendous progress in completing the quest given by the unknown entity, also known as ROB. The quest itself does not explain how well known. It only says that I should make a name for myself.

"That is all the report, My Lord."

I somehow manage to become a leader of a village filled with Dhampir. Dhampir or known as the bad blood by the pure-blooded vampire. Somehow they successfully hide in the edge of Romania, where they build a village for themself.

The reason why I become their leader is that I save them from the hunter of the pure-blooded vampire that they sent to hunt any Dhampir they can find. Around a few weeks ago, I heard a commotion near my castle, so Medea and I decided to look at it, and when we arrived, we saw a massacre. Without hesitation, I help them in the fight and kill all of the hunters and also the undead they bring with them. With the help of Medea, we successfully saved many people.

After hearing the explanation of the village elder, I decided to invite them to my castle for a momentary place to stay. The very next day, the villagers come to my office and ask my permission to build another village around my castle. They even pledge themself to me as their lord.

When accepting their request, I can hear Medea chuckling in the background, saying that she can finally become a queen.

A few days passed without trouble, and the village was completed with the help of Medea Dragon Tooth Warrior, who helped the villagers. However, the next day is another story as the hunter found my castle and decided to attack the next night. Seeing there are only a dozen real hunters and a few hundred undead, Medea decides that she wants to test the new strength of her illusion.

The next hour is like seeing a scene from a horror movie. Tentacles that have sharp teeth burst out from the ground and begin to consume the undead while a Chimera appears behind the hunter tossing them like a ragdoll. The fight only lasts for an hour, as Medea Chimera quickly kills the hunter with their tail that is filled with poison Medea brewed the other day.

I couldn't help but shudder, thinking someone that pissed her off. Medea is coming from the Age where Gods still walk in the mortal plane, making her full of horror material she can use for her illusion. Not only that, but she is also somehow able to recreate a Hydra poison. While the effect is not as strong as the real one, it still can kill a god if they aren't careful enough.

After killing all the hunters, I walk toward the hunter's body and find a cage full of Dhampir, ranging from adult to child. Without hesitation, I invite them to the village. The villagers welcome warmly and begin to treat them from their wounds. That night I decided to sleep immediately.

The next day another surprise happened. Fifty people from the village awakened their flame out of nowhere, and when I came close to them, they immediately bonded themself to me. While they can't be considered a guardian as their bond is not as strong as my bond with Medea, they can still be considered a family. For a week, Medea and I taught them how to use the flame and explained to them what flame truly is.

To this day, there are already 500 people becoming a resident around my castle. They come from a different race, be it human, halfling, or even an elemental. The human that comes to my domain is the magician folk that also gets hunted by the pure-blooded vampire. The reason is that their blood tastes more delicious than that of an average human. Lucky for me, the Dhampir and the half-werewolf live in peace. The only time they fight is in their weekly tournament I make for their entertainment.

The reason why they decided this meeting is because the pure-blooded vampire from the Tepes clan chose to attack my domain.

"I see, so the enemy has around 2000 undead in their army?"

"Yes, My Lord"

"Where are they coming from?"

"The Undead is coming from Bucharest, my Lord. That is the place usually the Tepes Clan place their undead."

"How many vampires will be coming here?"

"If the scouts correct, then around 30 people will come here. Each one of them has a power equivalent of a Mid-Rank being."

"How many Flame users do we have?"

"15 Storm, 25 Lightning, 10 Rain, 5 Cloud, 30 Sun and 17 Mist"

"Good, how many people are ready for combat?"

"The magician is ready for combat, My Lord."

"How many?"

"Except the kid, then around 100 people ready for combat."

"Good, then we can fight them head-on. Medea, please lead the magician we have to plant some traps around the area."

"With pleasure, My Lord."

"Good. Andrei"

"Yes, My Lord"

"How long do you think they will arrive?"

"If the scout is correct, then they will arrive tonight."

"Damn, we don't have much time, huh. Very well, Andrei, please tell the flame user to prepare. I need both Lightning and Cloud in the frontline while the Storm and Rain position themself behind Lightning and Cloud. Sun and Mist will be their support."

"Yes."

"Good. Then we will meet again in front of the village when the sun is setting."

I look at Medea before nodding at her and then begin to walk toward my bedroom. The reason why we walk toward my bedroom is that I need to summon another companion. While I know that Medea is enough to protect me, I don't want to be careless about my safety. I also already told Medea about summoning another companion, but of course, I didn't tell her about the brainwash.

When we arrive inside my bedroom, I open up the book and look at my choice.

"So who will you choose, master?"

Medea insists that she will call me 'master' when we are alone.

"I don't know. What kind of fighter do you think we need right now?"

"Hmmm, I'm guessing a frontline fighter or a healer. While a healer is good but I don't think we need it right away as my potion and your sun are good enough for now. Right now, we need a frontliner that can hold their ground."

"I see."

I nod at her answer and look at the list of people that I can choose. After looking for a few seconds, I nod to myself and say.

"Then we have a few options. In the first version, there is Hinata Hyuga and Yang Xiao Long. Both of them are frontline fighters. Hinata has a bloodline called byakugan that grants her a superhuman sight that is a few KM away from her location. It also grants her a perfect 360-degree vision. Yang Xiao Long, a frontline fighter with an ability that grants her an ability to absorb kinetic energy coming from her enemy to enchant her strength."

"Hinata can be useful in the long term as she can be our scout while Yang is not as useful as Hinata."

"Yes. Now into the second version. In this version, we have Captain Marvel and Sakura Haruno. Captain Marvel can be considered as a Walking Tank and Flying Artillery. She can take a huge amount of damage and deliver a massive amount of damage as well. In contrast, Sakura Haruno can be considered a Healing Tank. She can do a lot of damage with her fist and also heal the others while fighting in the frontline."

"I see. This one is rather difficult. If we choose Captain Marvel, then we get a powerful ally that takes and deals a lot of damage. However, if we choose Sakura Haruno, we get an ally that fulfills both frontline fighters and also a healer."

"Now into the third version. In this version, we have Erza Scarlet or Saber. Erza Scarlet has the power to switch gears that give her a different effect for each gear. Not only can she be our frontliner, but she can also be our mid to long-range fighter as well. Saber with the true name of Artoria Pendragon. As her class implies, she is a saber class, which means that she is a powerful frontline fighter that can defend and attack at the same time."

"I can understand how Saber works. Not only does she have a Magic Resistance because of her class, but she also has a riding that can be useful in the fight. On the other hand, I don't know about his Erza Scarlet individual very much, so I could not tell if she is worth summoning or not."

"Now, into the next version. In this version, I think I will take either Raphtalia or Albedo. Raphtalia can become a frontline fighter just fine, but I think she is more of a damage dealer/support role because of her magic. Albedo, on the other hand, can be considered a true frontliner that can do a lot of damage because of her absurd defensive ability. Not only that, but she can also redirect damage, she receives to her armor, making her able to withstand a powerful attack."

"I choose Albedo in this one. While Raphralia is good, I don't think we need her because I am already filling that lore."

"You are right. Now to the next version. In this version, I want to bring Fu from Naruto Verse. Not only has she considered a decent close combat prowess, but she also has a tenant inside her body that makes her a dangerous person to face on the battlefield. The next one is Ais Wallenstein, she is a Top-Tier swordmaster in her world, and she also can enchant her attack with magic, making her attack more lethal. That is all."

"So if we pick Fu, we will get a two-in-one package. While on the other hand, if we choose Ais Wallenstein, we will get a magic swordswoman."

"Yes. Now into the next and last version. This version we can take Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl. She is like Captain Marvel in terms of power, maybe, she is a walking tank and flying artillery. The next one is Victoria Dallon, aka Glory Girl. She is a knock off of Captain Marvel and Supergirl. The difference is that she is a fully close combat fighter, unlike the other two. The next one is Brigitte Lindholm. She is a frontline fighter that can take a considerable amount of damage while also giving support to her ally near her. Not only that, but she is also a mechanic who is something we need in the future."

"I see, is that all?"

"Yes. What do you think?"

"Hmmm. While we have a good selection, we need to see their price."

"Hinata Hyuga worth 20 points while Yang Xiao Long worth 15 points. Captain Marvel worth 10 points, and Sakura Haruno worth 10 points as well. Erza Scarlet worth 10 points while Saber worth 30 points. Raphtalia worth ten and Albedo worth 30. Fu worth ten and Ais Wallenstein worth 15 points. Supergirl worth 30 points, Glory Girl worth 15 points and Brigitte Lindholm worth 15 points."

"I think we should pick the one that doesn't cost us too many points. So we will eliminate the one that cost us 30 and 20 points."

"Then it only leaves us with: Yang Xiao Long, Captain Marvel, Sakura Haruno, Erza Scarlet, Raphtalia, Fu, Ais Wallenstein, Glory Girl, and Brigitte Lindholm."

"I think we should take Captain Marvel in this case. Not only does she don't cost us too many points, but she is also a great frontline fighter. However, Sakura Haruno is not bad for our choice."

While I want to pick Sakura for healing, I also think that Captain Marvel will be a great choice in this scenario. Not only can she become my frontline fighter, but she is also great for aerial support that rains down on my enemy with her cosmic blast. I also prefer Amy Dallon for my healer as she can fit the role of the enchanter and even a healer at the same time. The only weakness she has is that she can't use her power on herself.

"Very well. Let's summon Captain Marvel."

As I press the picture of Captain Marvel in the book, it shines brightly, and when the light is gone, I see a woman with blonde hair unconscious on the ground with purple energy running across her body.

"Dammit. Medea takes some of our potions and brings it here. I will try to help her with my flame."

"Yes"

Why? Why do I always get someone on the brink of death?
