Chapter 1

"T-this will work right?" Li Xiu's voice quiver, out of both fear and anticipation. The unknown man clad in black and mysteriousness rolled his eyes, "answering for the hundredth time, yes. And asking again won't change that fact so you better stop."

Li Xiu's pale white hair momentarily danced with the wind as she tilted her head, "but I want it to work."

"Exactly, so shut your mouth and just take it."

"Then may I ask why it's so expensive?"

The man once again groan in frustration, "it's a freakin' love potion, what do you expect?"

"I'm not even sure if i-it will work, may we try it first?" Fingers fidgeting, Li Xiu lowered her head. A 'no' immediately followed and silence hung in the air.

"Look girl," he paused and placed a hand under her chin, firm but not painful, "I guarantee you that it's a hundred and one percent legit. I'm being generous with the price right now, and it can only be used once so unless you want it to get wasted, just trust me."

Li Xiu nodded, softly grabbing the dinky, suspiciously dark bottle. Money was given to the seller and with a sudden flash, he disappeared into the darkness of midnight.

Li Xiu stared down at the item, eyeing it carefully. 'It looks plain' she thought as she bit her lip, 'like me.'

Her eyes glimmered and though filled with doubts, a smile couldn't help but creep onto her face, "you will be the bridge between me and my love."
