Mia stared at the message Jack had sent to her. She had forgotten she was supposed to meet with Jack and discuss their divorce. Being in Declan's presence made her forget about time and eased some of her pain. It was the first time she felt relief during her cramps, and it was all thanks to Declan. Her cheeks flushed at the thought of the kiss they had shared. Did that mean they were together now? Was she officially his girlfriend? They hadn't discussed that.
After the kiss, they had abandoned every conversation and focused on their movie, avoiding each other's gaze until Mia fell asleep. When she woke up, she was properly covered with a duvet, and a pain reliever was placed with a bottle of water beside her desk with the words, "use me." She smiled at it like it was the most precious thing she had ever seen, took pictures before using the drug. Not wanting to dwell too much on the previous day, she decided to reply to Jack.
"Was busy, can we reschedule?"
