Chapter 36

Rachel and Nancy walked hand in hand out of the office building to head home. Their steps automatically slowed, once they found the figure of Dimitri standing leaning on one of the basement pillars while playing with his cellphone.

Rachel and Nancy were about to walk away, remembering the last time at the cafe when Dimitri ignored her. 

"Rachel!" called Dimitri, causing the two of them to suddenly stop in their tracks.

Rachel was actually surprised because suddenly Dimitri returned to greet her as usual.

Rachel and Nancy turned to find Dimitri walking toward them with one hand sunk in his trouser pocket.

Dimitri pulled a smile. "Can we talk?" he asked.

Rachel and Nancy looked at each other. Rachel nodded to Nancy, and the understanding Nancy withdrew. "Bye, Rachel." Then Nancy turned to Dimitri. "I'm sorry to go home, Mr. Young."
