Chapter Eighteen.

DIANA

TWO WEEKS LATER

I was at the studio for the photoshoot for LV diamonds, and I'm so excited am finally living my dreams and it still feels surreal, i did the shoot for the clothing line last week in Paris and being famous in a short time feels fantastic. After my shoot I received a call from Liam telling me to come to the hospital as soon as possible, so I quickly changed and left the studio, I entered my car and told the chauffeur to take me to the hospital, when he parked I came out and called Liam.

"I'm at the hospital reception, where are you?" I asked.

"Wait, I am coming to get you." I hanged up and numerous thoughts flowed into my head, what happened?, who was in hospital, and it couldn't be grandma because I saw her three days ago, and she was she healthy, and it's definitely not Leo because I saw him last night.

"Diana this way." Liam called out to me and I quickly followed him.

"What's happening, Liam?" I asked when we entered the elevator.

"It's grandma." he replied, and I felt my breath hitched.

"What happened to her?" I asked as fear gripped me.

"She collapsed this morning, and we rushed her to the hospital, but the doctor said her condition was critical, and she needed surgery immediately, but she insisted on seeing you before she receives treatment, I've been trying to call you, but it's always sent to your voicemails." he explained and guilt gripped me.

"I'm sorry I wasn't with my phone,I had a shoot today, am sorry." I apologized.

We got to a room and entered I met everyone there, but I rushed to granny's bedside and a tear left my eyes when I saw all the machines connected to her, but I quickly wiped it away.

"Granny." I called, and she opens her eyes weakly.

"D…Diana." she said holding my hand and the tears I was keeping at bay flowed out.

"Shhh don't cry, I'm fine, and I can see that you've become popular now." she said slowly.

"Yes granny, I became a model because of you, so you must stay strong to see me get more popular, you did it all Granny." I said in tears, trying to smile.

"Where is Leonard?" Granny asked and Leonard walked forward, oh I didn't notice he was in the room.

"I'm here, grandma." she held his hand and mine together.

"I want you to promise me something."

"Yes granny/grandma." we replied.

"I want you to promise that whatever happens you will always stay together, you will be together until you grow old." she said, looking from Leo to me.

"I promise Granny, but please promise me that you will come out of that OT." I said, crying.

"I promise you, I......." she couldn't finish her words when the loud sound of beeping blared the room.

"What's wrong?, What's happening." I asked when I saw granny breathing loudly, Liam pressed a button on the wall and doctors and nurses rushed in.

"Everyone should go out please." the doctor said, and we walked out to give them some privacy to do their job.

"What's happening to my grandma." I asked crying, still getting any answer from anyone. Oh God please nothing should happen to Granny, she's all I've got. I paced up and down the hallway.

"Diana come sit." someone said, and I wasn't paying attention, I felt a hand on my shoulder and was startled but signed when I saw Leonard, he took my hand and dragged me to a seat.

"Hey everything is going to be fine." he said in a whisper caressing my hair.

"Granny promised that she will be fine." I muttered.

"Yes, she promised, and she will be fine, okay." I nodded but was still crying.

AN HOUR LATER

"Why are they taking so long, Leo I want to see granny, please take me to her, umm." I said, standing up. I think am losing my mind and if I see grandma I will be fine.

"Diana let the doctor do their job, don't worry she will be fine." Liam answered and a few minutes later the doctors came out wearing a long face.

"What happened?" Mrs Smiths asked, and we looked at him expectantly, but he just shook his head.

"We're sorry we did everything we could but we couldn't save her, she died of heart failure." he dropped the bombshell. No, No,No, No,Nooo this can't be happening, my only family can't leave me alone, Granny can't leave me now, she just can't.

I looked at everyone, and they were in tears, the doctors were lying Granny isn't dead nothing happened to her. I entered the room and saw the nurse about to cover her.

"What are you doing?, get away from her don't do it, nothing happened to her, she'll be fine,s....she promised she'll be okay." I walked to the bedside and held her hand tightly, which was getting a little cold.

"Grandma wake up, granny you can't leave me alone, granny please wake up. I promise I won't complain about the marriage anymore,I promise to make it work and give you the great grand child you want, please wake up." I said brawling my eyes out, I felt someone's presence at my back and the person hugged me.

"Diana, that's enough." I heard Leo say and I turned to look at him to see him trying to mask his pain, but I could see through him.

"Leo, please tell grandma to stand up, tell her that the prank worked am feeling scared already, please."

"It's okay, Diana stand up, let the nurse do their job."

"No, I can't leave grandma here, she will be alone I…I want to stay with her." I choked on my tears.

"Let's go Diana." he dragged me out of the ward and I couldn't do anything or argue with him, I was feeling tired and weak. I wanted to sleep and wake up to see that this was all a dream. I felt my eyelids getting heavier, so I had no choice but to shut them.
