The Wam of Crystal Forest

Mow The Adventurer
Driven by his determination, Mow,
Plow village is my home. Like the majority at birth, I was left in the care of the Mistress, our leader. Mistress Gonzalez was once a princess. She once used her position in her Kingdom to fight for the freedom of the people of Fantasia, the fantasy folk. Elf, dwarfs, fairies and many others were treated unjustly.

So many have stood up for them in the past, but never have they ever possessed the power she had. The prejudice against the people came to no avail. The Mistress alongside her husband, gathered the folks, and headed towards the furthest region known to Man, The Pounding Valley. All came to be and built as one, thus the founding of Plow. Sadly her message sprung the kingdom in confusion.

The thought of Man and Fantasy living as one, cloaked the king in fear, which resulted in him giving the order, that she must remove herself from the throne. Afterwards, ties were cut and her title was removed. A large set back plummeted us into poverty. I was five years old at the time. As time went on, most of the Fantasy folk, took their leave. Some stayed and encouraged us to move forward.

The Mistress was grateful for the support. Trust in her does result in positivity as we all work and commune together. Neighboring towns and villages made peace treaties to help us thrive. No matter how consistent our pacing was, it still was not enough. I, Mow, pledge to become our greatest adventurer to save Plow and restore my mothers name.

After becoming an adventurer, I've slain countless beasts. Orgs, Wild Goblins, and also Pumpkin Goons. For each monster I slay, coins are given. It sure isn't a walk in the park. It's not a hobby, it's a job. Those don't come easy in this region.

It takes heart, courage, and dedication to excel as an adventurer. As a wise man once said, "If you're not careful, you can either wind up dead on a quest, or left so, on a venture." That was my father, of course.
Powerful monsters dwell in plenty regions. It's as if they're destined to represent them. Even we have one in ours. In Crystal Forest, lies a creature like no other. No one knows of its origin nor its name. Well, as a matter of fact, we do know its name, or at least the one we came up with. The Wam.

The Wam likes to engage in activities. They consist of pranking, stealing, trespassing and most Importantly, fighting. Able to morph its limbs into any weapon it interacts with, gives the Wam a huge advantage in the act of combat. Every now and then, an adventurer from some far out land, seeks the treasures of Crystal Forest. Any and all who approaches near it, must face the Wam.

A huge reward awaits for who so rids the Wam from this world. Most have come and gone over the years. Some don't make it back at all. Like many before, warriors from the tribes next door, gave a crack at it. They came back empty handed, as usual.

The quest for the Wam has finally came to my village. It was available to any Adventurer. Luckily, too set my sights on the forest and encountered the Wam along the way. The creature was not as big as I expected. t was small, yellow, and its head was the shape of a mallet. Literally.

It's a few inches shorter than I was. Oddly enough, it wore brown pants. That revelation most definitely burned a hole in my brain. Not only that, a shiny diamond shimmered across its belly. But of all the strange things, it greeted me. I was shocked.

The Wam has never greeted an outsider before, at least to my knowledge. Stories indicate that upon approach, it would glare you from head to toe, awaiting an anticipated game of combat. Assuming it to be a prank after hearing of, "The Thievery of The Wam", I drew my sword. Inches before my blade could touch its little head, "hugm!" It ate it. The freaking Wam ate my legendary Hydra sword.

The one pulled from a multi-headed dragon I slew on my first quest. In a blink of an eye, it was gone. Just gone. I froze, then began to pout. It watched curiously and then took off running. I sure as hell gave chase. It got away of course.

Later that day on the trail home, Wam popped from the ground before me. it spat my sword out, and greeted me again, with its tiny little hand extended in an offering gesture. I somewhat had a clue what it was saying. Unlike other kids, I was raised around Fantasy folk.

Usually they remove themselves and keep a distance from Human children. With me, it was different, as if I was one of their own. The Mistress once told me the story about how both Fantasy and Man met and the amazing bond gifted to Man by them, the Infinity bond. This bond allows us to do all sorts of unworldly things. Specifically, access to Will.

Will is an internal force driven and strengthened by the hearts of living beings. It can be used to conjure weapons, enhance them, and increase our physical strength. Perfect Manipulation of it, can potentially give you the abilities to alter the very forces that govern this world. Maybe even more. An individual who utilizes Will, is known to all as a Will Wielder.

She also told me there are people born of the Infinity bond. A child sprung from it, is always met with some sort of disability. My disability, I can't speak. Weird sounds were my limit. Many couldn't understand me but, The Mistress and the Fantasy folk could.
Though my birth parents remain a mystery, she is certain that I am of the Infinity bond; therefore making me part Fantasy. Only Fantasy can sense the bond. That is why they gravitated towards me. Maybe that's what's happening with the Wam. Or is it just a coincidence.

Wam can't speak. It just makes weird noises. At least we have something in common. So I happily obliged and shook its hand, lighting the spark of our friendship.
