Chapter 55 - Abyss

Ren was taken aback when she saw Yuuki sitting on the boulder with a lollipop in his mouth with his arm resting on his knee. She couldn't believe that he arrived without letting her sense him.

'What an interesting dog…'

She has the strongest sense yet Yuuki was able to bypass it and arrive without even noticing him. He was like an enigma looking at her seemingly looking down on her.

In truth, Yuuki was trying to provoke her since he wanted to test himself against her but it might be too impulsive to outright challenge at this time.

"How long have you been sitting there?"(Ren)

"I've been here since you started fighting. You do have quite an interesting ability."

Yuuki said jumping down the boulder surprised Ren causing a bit of her pride as the apex of humanity to be damaged due to the fact she didn't even notice him unless he had some ability to remove his entire presence would still allow her to sense him.

On the other hand, Yuuki was able to sense how strong she was, having power that would cause massive destruction if utilized, therefore she preferred using abilities that won't cause too much damage.

However, if he would fight her without holding with the intent to kill then she would lose with little difficulty especially how arrogant she is.

"Interesting that you manage to arrive without me sensing, is this part of your ability?"(Ren)

"You could say that….hmmm, they're here."

Soon, Kyouka arrives with his clone looking at the aftermath. The clone was equal to or slightly stronger than Yuuki in terms of attributes but lacks the ability that he has, therefore he should have arrived a lot quicker but decided to mow down some Shuuki along the way.

"You are late, Kyouka. I'm already done here."(Ren)

Kyouka looks at the back of the commander who had an ethereal presence as she turned to face them.

"It's as impressive as usual. The commander's ability…[ Vairocana ]"

After receiving the peach blessing, Ren awakened the ability to deploy mandalas to make use of the eight different abilities of eight Buddhas, which appeared in her eyes.

It is often depicted as she holds her hand in a meditative hand position named dhyāna mudrā, manifesting several circling shining cards, which appear around a ring of light.

Most notable among other Peach Blessings, there are several things that make Vairocana the most dangerous among them, which is that she is capable of using two abilities at the same time, and she is the only person who knows what those abilities are.

Additionally, Ren can place one ability in both eyes, giving it a power boost. Clearly that Yuuki is superior in abilities since he is able to use it all at once without switching but it does take a toll on his body depending on what abilities he uses.

"Kyouka. Undo the slave transformation."(Ren)

Her face was stoic yet it was clear that she was commanding her rather than requesting Yuuki moved closer to his clone as Kyouka stared blankly for a moment and did as told.

It was then brightly shone as the clone vanished and returned to Yuuki where Ren noticed that his strength seemed to have grown, taking notes that making clones caused his power to split. She didn't notice it when he split himself earlier since she was occupied thinking about his arrogant words.

'He can draw out Kyouka's ability, and even Tenka has her eyes on him…he kind of piqued my interest. I wonder if he's able to use his ability when in that [ Slave form ] or not.'

She was staring into an abyss unaware that it was gazing back at her. Ren would eventually fall into his hands due to Yuuki's [ Probability Manipulation ].

"You have to reward him, if I recall correctly? What kind of reward is it?"

Kyouka stared at her for a moment before her body moved on its own and embraced Yuuki's head into her body while patting his head. Though Yuuki prefers lewd rewards, getting this kind of moment does remove his fatigue.

Getting pampered reminds him of his sister and mother who he subconsciously craved since he never had a family in his previous life. Kyouka looked at Ren who seemed dumbstruck and said.

"All he had to do this time was rush to the scene, after all."

"Is it over?"(Ren)

Ren paused, giving an intrigued smile planning something behind those innocent yet sinister smiles.

"Hehehe…so that's all it takes?"(Ren)

She got closer to them then began floating, looking intently at Yuuki.

"How cute."

'I wonder how long you'll think that.'

Yuuki was inwardly laughing knowing that she fell into his grasp the moment Ren became interested in him.

"You're kind of like a Dog."

Kyouka let him go as he stood back up looking at Ren floating in the air and said.

"I'm going back. Keep an eye on them until the retrieval team arrives"(Ren)

"Roger."(Kyouka)

Ren then flew into the sky at high speed producing a sonic boom that could easily deafen a normal person while Kyouka and Yuuki looked at her and disappeared into the distance.

"People tend to think the commander's ability is to fly as she moves around like that... But that's just part of her ability. They all misunderstood it, and that's why they were beaten."(Kyouka)

"They're humans... Right? Did they come to steal the peaches?"

"We send a steady supply of peaches to other countries, but I guess they still want more"

She looked at them with pity in her eyes and thought to herself.

'Mato is a dangerous existence... That draws out strife.'

Yuuki clearly saw what she was thinking, especially her emotion. He crossed his arms and said.

"You're thinking too deeply. Even without Mato, people would still act the same."

Kyouka looked at Yuuki and sighed.

"How come?"

"Resources and stuff. Even during the era of pre Mato, wars and strife are seen."

She fell silent thinking about his words and somewhat understood what he was trying to say. After a while, the terrorists. In order for Ren to interrogate the arrested assailants, the chief's assembly concluded as soon as it could be taken away and everyone returned to the assembly. Bell seemed relieved that everything ended and saw Yuuki leave wanting to talk with him.

"E-Excuse me."

Yuuki stopped and turned to Bell who still had his lollipop on her mouth and was blushing as she tried to return it.

"B-Bell want to return this."

"No need, you can have that."

He gave a wide grin while Bell felt her heart skip a bit seeing his bright smile and began to feel it racing.

"W-Why did you give it to Bell, Y-Yuuki-san?"

"Spur of the moment, I guess. If you are mad then sorry about that."

"N-No, it's fine. Bell was just surprised by that all."

Yuuki nodded and took a piece of paper, confusing Bell.

"Here's my contact, feel free to talk to me if you need a friend. I can see being a chief can be stressful."(Yuuki)

Bell's face heated up, never had a boy give her a number and didn't know what to do. Not only did she get an indirect kiss and taste some of his bodily fluid was now receiving his number as Yuuki simply took her hand and placed it.

"Relax, even though I'm not trying to be a hero and save the world. I'm willing to be a hero to someone and save their world."

His words run deep into her heart, charming her while Kyouka was talking with her master and teacher when she frowned seeing him flirt again. Not that she minds but Kyouka is still someone who can feel jealous.

"Yuuki, let's go."(Kyouka)

Yuuki nodded and looked at Bell who was in a daze as he smiled and patted her head.

"I'll be waiting, so call me."

He soon left Bell who lovestricken that easily since she never felt a genuine care and interest before as most only started to care about her when she had an ability but felt overwhelmed and insignificant facing someone better than her.

Yuuki is unaware that his ability is able to boost anyone who grew feelings for him and make them stronger similar to how slaves work where the more the lender, the stronger the base is.

"I already told you try to keep yourself…"(Kyouka)

She whispered while walking beside Yuuki who was sweating a little and said.

"Yeah, sorry, I just thought she needed the help."

Yuuki reminds him of the street children who he often found and subconsciously helped. Kyouka understood what he was trying to do and said.

"If you say so."

After a while, they were in the Jeep where Riu and Konomi joined for a ride. Their unit was close to their dormitory and wouldn't take long to get back.

"Thank you for giving us a ride, Anedeshi"(Konomi)

"It's fine. It's an opportunity to patrol."(Kyouka)

"The chief's assembly ended way too soon than I thought."(Yuuki)

"On the other hand, it'll happen more frequently from here on out."(Kyouka)

"And along with that, more missions that will need the corporation of chiefs."(Riu)

She said having her arms crossed thinking about the future in store for them.

"How are your disciples turning out, Konomi aside?"(Kyouka)

"So-so, I'd say. Even though they're all training under the same environment, not a single one of them is able to become as strong with their own bodies as Kyouka."(Riu)

She rubbed her chin thinking about other potential Anti-demon corp members joining and haven't found anyone as tenacious as Kyouka nor as talented as Konomi.

Yuuki wasn't that surprised since her body seem to be at its peak condition and constantly growing due to her intense training even more when Yuuki taught her [ Total Concentration Breathing ] that it was modified that won't kill anyone since Yuuki is an expert in the human body thanks to his intellect.

Yuuki couldn't help but smile seeing the two interact then Konomi turned to him and said.

"By the way, to what extent does your ability go? And how many unique martial arts did you learn!?"(Konomi)

"Too many to count. Though, I do have my favorites namely [ Renewal Taekwondo ] and [ Full contact Karate ]."(Yuuki)

"Oh, I also made my own martial art that uses my ability as base."(Konomi)

"Really now? This makes me excited to share pointers."(Yuuki)

"This will be a great opportunity for you, Konomi. I'm getting old but his talent is something I can mention."(Riu)

She realized that Yuuki was not that strong until the moment he fought the army of Shuuki that she realized that he was holding back and maintaining an unbelievable control that hid his true prowess to even the most keen individual.

Soon, they arrive at the 1st unit dormitory where Riu set up an area for them to spar a bit while Kyouka watches from the sidelines with Riu.

"I don't know where you get this boy but it can only be called a blessing."(Riu)

Kyouka simply nodded Yuuki and Konomi was stretching where they were several meters away from each other.

"Are you sure you'll be fine with me using my ability, Wakura-san?"(Konomi)

"No need to hold back. Even without using my abilities I am well capable of defending myself."(Yuuki)

She nodded, taking a tiger stance that instantly changed her entire demeanor, manifesting a tiger from his aura alone.

Yuuki took deep breaths, taking his own stance where he exhaled and controlled his breathing. He bent his knees in a half-crouch position, extending his right arm with an open palm while fully clenching their fists in a downwards bend on their left arm.

Everyone saw that his below seemingly manifests a light blue snowflake-shaped compass underneath him.
