Chapter 6
“Cool.” Lee put his phone away. “So hey, do you think we’ll hear this week about full-time positions?”
“I think so. I’m working on a project with Chip that’s due to our department VP. I’ll be meeting with Tobie Mendez around four o’clock this afternoon.”
“Mine is tomorrow afternoon.”
I raised my can of soda. “We should wish each other luck.” Lee raised his and clinked it with mine.
“Luck!”
We focused on our meal after that. Gathering our trash, Lee and I got up and wandered back to the building.
“Did I tell you about my mom and dad? Mom is second generation Chinese and dad is this big blond dude who swept her—”
I listened to him chatter as we walked back to the elevators and our cubicles. I loved to listen to him ramble. It was cute.
